The RG-31 series is about the only variant that would be a decent dd.

I don't think you're paying attention to what's at mil surplus sales.  You'll never see an MRAP at one.

Surely you're not suggesting that armor, a boomerang and CROWS could triumph over the mighty AR-15?

Only GWOT-era military truck I'd be interested in:

And at that I'd just assume have a Tacoma or Frontier.

Spent a few hours stuck near a quarry in the Anbar province. Maybe just an hour, but it felt like an eternity at the time. The quarry workers were watching us from a distance, and I'm pretty sure they were laughing at us. I started fearing was that they'd get bored and decide their cousin's mortar would make the whole episode even funnier.

If you got the cash, go for a Maraduer out of south Africa. Top gear did a show on it, drove through walls and they set off c4 under it. Blew a tire from the blast but everything else was fine... Started it up and drove off.  They are north of 400k I believe and then there IA the whole problem if importing and licensing it here in the states.

I was joking about the dd part.

I could handle a HMMWV as a weekend toy, though.
2.5 and 5ts would be easy to get but I don't know what I'd use it for to justify owning one.

According to my research, mini-14's and old trucks armored with sheet metal and steel barrels are the way to go.

You worried about IEDs, there, OP?

It's easier and probably cheaper to buy an up armored SUV.

Had an older MRAP (we mostly had MATVs) break down right here.
Right in the middle of the bridge, surrounded by nearby mountains in most directions. We're trying to hook up the tow bar and I keep checking that stupid pull tab on my IOTV and wondering if the way I hooked my camelback through it is going to make it not work when I get blown into the water.
