Fuckwit should have done it on a Saturday.
Less impact to traffic. A few decades ago a guy drove a tractor into the pond near the Reflecting Pool and then stayed there a few days. The US Park Police had to cordon the area along Constitution Ave. off, not to protect the citizenry from him, but to protect him from the irate commuters. We also had a nut job tie up traffic over the old Wilson Bridge, standing on the rail claiming he was going to hurtle himself about 60 feet into the Potomac River. Closed the bridge, which is I-95N for nine hours. People were calling in to local radio stations offering to shoot the fuckwit. And they weren't joking. |

He must have had a fire suit on. He was even walking around after they put him out.
ETA: based on the pic and his face I guess not. Something seems very off about this. How is his hair still all in place? |

Dude was still standing when they doused the flames with an extinguisher? Am I seeing that right? Wow. View Quote It takes most self-immolators about 0.3 seconds to realize they fucked up and start running around like a headless chicken. |

View Quote Wait till the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and block the Wilson Bridge bridge for hours. Hundreds of thousands of people stock in traffic on I-95 from New York to North Carolina going home to see mama would hate me. I'd just make sure the police can't shoot me off the bridge with a bean bag gun, like they ended up resorting to the last time. One time the custodian union blocked the Roosevelt bridge with a school bus during morning rush hour. That ended quickly when people started getting out of their cars and heading towards the bus and the protesters to move them themselves. The police quickly forced the protesters to leave. |

Whatever he used seemed pretty effective. They should publish the recipe on the DNC website.

I don't know when I instituted this policy, but I'm going to pretend it's a policy I've long held. Surely he had some documented grievances? Something. Now, if people start burning like matches in the Sun, then I'm going to modify my policy. But, until then, yeah, you've got my attention. Make the most of it. Persuade me. |
