I've never once, in years of carrying, been asked to present my CCW card.
I've been "made" three times that I know of. The first time was someone whose office I was in. We finished our appointment; he came around the desk and stood behind me (so as to see me out the door) just as I was leaning forward to get out of the chair. He saw the butt of my pistol. He asked me why I carried a gun, but didn't ask to see my CCW permit. The second time was when an acquaintance came up and hugged me before I could brace for it (e.g. shielding the gun by dropping my elbow over it). She asked what it was; I told her what it was, and why. We had some thoughtful discussion about self-defense ideology. She didn't ask to see my CCW permit. The third time was when I was pocket carrying in thin dress pants. I was printing--I knew I was printing when I left the house--but I didn't give a shit because I was going to my private office job at the time where such things are permitted and nobody's looking at my pants anyways. I had stopped after work to pick something up from the store, and a guy very visibly made eye contact with me, looked down at my pocket, made eye contact with me again, and made a "pat pat" motion on his own pocket. He didn't ask to see my CCW permit. So, have I been "tricked" into getting a CCW permit? I had to go through the time and expense of getting it, but nobody--in years of concealed carry (and sometimes open carry)--has ever asked for proof. Were you "tricked" into getting the vaccine? I chose to get a CCW permit. You chose to get vaccinated. |

My children are 7, 9 & 11 and they know me well enough already that they wouldn't even expect me to be there under those conditions. We've been to California, Wyoming, Colorado & Florida since all this started and any time they've been asked have politely said "We don't do masks."
