Yes, they are called "Orlite" magazines. -White Horse |

It is indeed a fact that John Wayne broke a Mattel M16 in that scene. It was a Marauder. The big fat magazine is a dead giveaway. |

How many of those come in a bucket? Do I get biscuits with them? |

It wouldn't be worth their time to tool up. Rather, they could subcontract it out and let someone else make it and market it for them. Better yet, license their name for a limited time. Their attorneys would like that even better. |

You guys can doubt all you want, I've fired ammo that had a MATTEL head stamp.
|
|
No they didn't. Good grief |

Your daddy carried a toy in the Coast Guard. |

I had a Fanner Fifty. That little indent in the right hand stock was used to put the bullets into the cases. I wore mine plumb out. |

I saw a 'Mattel' made M-16 at a gunshow once.
It was not for sale. |

That is cool, and my 8 yr old nephew is now getting one! They have no guns at all at Toys R Us, you just helped make my nephews Xmas a blast! I ordered one 5 minutes ago. |

Yes they did. Saw them in the late 80's when I was stationed Ft Lewis. Our mortar platoon had them. |

Hehehehehehehehehehe
Best to remain quiet and thought an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. |

The handguards and stock were originally made from Bakelite/fiberglass composite. Although this is considered a "plastic", it isn't anything the Mattel Corp had ANY experience with. The stocks are also very thin shells, meaning a high level of precision is required with the molding process.
It isn't injection molded but rather pressed from powdered components in a very high pressure operation. It is considered a thermoset plastic meaning the molding process chemically changes the material into a permanent form. Unlike PP/PE/Nylon etc, which are thremopolymers, Bakelite cannot melt. It will burn but never melt. |

You DID NOT "see" them, because they never existed. Or was Sasquatch holding one, while riding a pink unicorn? In that case, I might believe you, but dreams and acid-induced visions don't really count, do they? |

I talked to an off-duty cop the other day...I struck up a conversation because he was wearing a Stag Arms T-shirt. He said he loved his. He bought it because they are one of only two companies that make lefty AR15's. The other one was.....
Are you ready for this? Are you sure? "MILTON BRADLEY...that's right, the toy maker" He said I tried sooooooo hard not to laugh. roy d.................I guess he got confused with Mattel |

My brother still has one of these. My parents bought us one back in the 60's. When this topic popped up a couple of years ago I posted the pic on here. I'll see if i can find the picture again.

WILL SOMEONE OUT THERE PLEASE POST A REAL PHOTO OF
"A MATTEL MARKED PISTOL GRIP" If they exist??? My take on the whole Mattel M16 thing is that some Soldier with too much time on his hands carved a nice Mattel Logo into an M16 grip/stock or 2 to help perpetuate the myth?? All it would have taken was 1 or 2 & "Presto" instant Mattel M16 Myth!!! & What a long lived myth it has been!! I've had guys swear that they have seen the logo on grips/stocks & even one guy said he saw a Mattel marked Magazine base plate. Go figure! |
|
Awesome! |

You're going to Hell for that one. |
