Lets see your HOME tool boxes for those of you in the trade.
Mine: US General 44" roller cabinet with a US General 26" chest/cabinet on the side. Attached File And in case you were wondering, my work box is a MATCO triple bay. Attached File |

Have a old craftsman at the folks place, a vintage Kennedy machinist box here at my grandparents place, and a little husky work cart at work.
The little husky work cart gets ABUSED, I use it to work smarter moving big props and prop shafts around the marina work yard. |

Here is a brief tour I gave recently. There were so many requests for updates after the original, I finally broke down and did another one.

I have a basic snapon single bay / tech school issue tool box in the garage full of wood working tools.
I do not keep any real mechanical tools at home. I do not do side work. I do not work on any projects at home. I work 11 hour days 4 days a week and bust my ass while I’m there. I do not do shit for mechanical work at home. I do bread rabbits and hedgehogs, build furniture with less than stellar quality( that’s a work in progress) , and I drink a lot of beer. |

Hmmm....just realized that I don't have a picture of my setup.
MAC 52" bottom box, HF44" top box on it. Two HF 5-drawer service carts. Two large file cabinets |

I don’t get the duplicates thing. One of the above pic shows what, 15, channel locks that all look pristine? We all end up with duplicates eventually, whether due to misplaced tools or work/home getting combined, semi-consumables like screwdrivers or wire strippers, etc, but drawers with basically the same thing duplicated 10-15 times? Dunno, would make me look at the owner as a bit strange if shown to me in person. To each their own...
Wtf do you work on with 15 channel locks? It’s the “when you don’t have the right tool” tool in so many cases. Scratching my head over here. |

Got this for the granddaughter the other day off of the Snap On truck. Trial run at home with some small tools. Probably the cheapest thing on the truck at $169.00.

Home box. I have an identical lower triple bank in blue at work. I searched for a box to replace it so I could bring it home. After about six months, this one popped up on CL about 120 miles away for $4500.00. Offered $2750.00 and we went back and forth a bit before settling on $3250.00. Components are between 9-14 years old but all in great condition. Had it hauled on a roll back wrecker and then had the butcher block top planed and re-cleared. Left the blue one at work...

My garage has my wife's grandfather's Montgomery Ward toolbox. He died in 1985 so I'm not sure what's in it

Nothing special.
HF Top/bottom, 25 year old Craftsman Top/Middle/Bottom, no name roll cart that my old roomate left behind when he moved out of state. Bunch of Gladiator cabinets, homebuilt workbench and rolling table, $10 file cabinet from Habitat for all my cased power tools and hardware (amazing how much crap fits in that thing). ETA: Guess I don't count, I am strictly a shadetree. I am in a trade but I don't turn wrenches for a living. Was going to at one point but I figured it was best to not screw up a hobby by trying to make a living at it. Attached File Attached File Attached File |
