I really do not give a shit if I fit a meme stereotype wearing New Balance shoes. With my 4E width paddle foot, the other makes never fit right. New Balance is one of the few shoe brands I can sight unseen online order a style of shoe in the stated size and there is a 99% chance it is going to fit.

Been wearing New Balance for almost 40 years. I used to run 5 miles a day 37 years ago. But life and kids and work etc. put an end to that. They have always been very comfortable shoes to wear. Currently wearing a pair of 990 V4's. As to personal facts.
Age 67. Early this year I took a look at myself and did not like what I saw. 5 foot 9 inches and 249 pounds. Resurrected the kids old Weider home gym and went to work. 8 week later I am down to 229 pounds. Still a long way to go, but also still going. A surprise bout of sciatica the past two weeks has slowed my down quite a bit but the workouts do not seem to affect it so I keep on going when I can. One great things about being an old fart is I don't give a damn what other people think. My foot structure that leaves me prone to shin splints and New Balance has been a great shoe for me over the decades. Made in the USA too. Shopping for any shoe has always been a trial for me. Dress shoes even more so. When I find something that works I stick with it and don't care what anyone else thinks. Loving my New Balance 990's. I'll let others drink the swoosh Kool-aid. |

I'm 45 and have never nor will ever even try on a pair. I wear Vans (first pair I was 10) Under Armour, and Nike for casual. Business casual, I have 8 pairs of Clarks, I wear Reef flip flops around town, and Keen Sandals when summer hiking. New Balance shoes are embarrassing so are white calf tube socks.... I mostly wear all black plain sneakers for daily wear and have a bunch of Puma Suedes,Adidas Sambas and Adiease,Altama OTB,Palladiums and a pair of New Balance 212 skate shoes. They're great shoes. |

You guys worry about the dumbest things. Dads dress a certain way to embarrass the living shit out of their offspring. It's a control mechanism. If they act up, their dorky looking dad has to come rescue them which is really humiliating. Don't any of you guys read the rule book? There are rules, you know.

Middle aged guys wearing NB is no big deal, kids are going to make fun of you anyway.
What's really sad is the guys sporting their Vans, like it's still the 80's. Attached File |

I wear what I want. I have lighter weight NB but these are better for my daily walks with the dog. First pic in thread with NB and GSD Attached File |

New Balance is the shit. I also have wide, flat feet with over-pronation, but I was wearing them long before I was tuned into my needs.

So this website,or at least the majority of people in this thread are middle aged overweight white dads that don't give a fuck and dress like nerds ?
Never owned a pair of NB, but not for the nerd reason, they just never appealed to me. I have a pair of Mizuno right now..I actually had to look up on the internet who they were made by because its just a logo and no name lol....Mizuno Wave Inspire. Now I will never get New Balance shoes because some nerd from the internet will stalk me and then make fun of me. |

Go look at New Balances they don’t all look like dad shoes.
Also try on adidas Ultra Boosts, Pure Boosts, or NMD’s they are one of if not the most comfortable shoes out at the moment. Anything Adidas uses boost material I will be comfortable. Hell even the Yeezy 350 Boost is more comfortable than any of Nike’s current offerings. I can’t wear anything else. |

My running shoes are NB Fresh Foam Gobi Trail.
I've been pretty happy with them, super light, but I don't wear them too much unless I'm running. |
