For me, Jacob's Ladder. I really think I felt almost suicidal when it finished. It put the hook in me like nothing ever will again. Lots of heavy thoughts about religion, afterlife, etc. I'm not going to give away spoilers, but if you haven't seen it, see it. It's for me a movie I love to hate in a way.

Honorable mention goes to The Road. I was prepared however as I had just read the book, which is even worse.

Greaser’s Palace, written by Robert Downey, Sr. Yes, Robert Downey, Jrs dad.

It was Jrs 2nd or 3rd movie—I suspect it contributed to Jrs drug problems…as did his father.

It was bizarre

The French film High Tension was pretty whack-a-doodle and disturbing.

Great ending but yeah...it's a dozy.

I couldn't even open up my sealed DVD of Ichi The Killer.

That's another depraved film, from what I understand.

That is the most recent movie I watched that made me go WTF. The whole thing is stop motion animation that’s very well done. No words spoken the entire time.

It is done by Phil Tippett who did the stop motion for Starship Troopers, Jurassic Park, Robocop etc.

Ishtar? What a clusterfuck of a movie. Jacob's ladder messed me up, but Jaws really fucked me up as a kid. I could not swim in the ocean, a lake, or even a dark swimming pool for a long time.
