Quoted: Seriously nobody else though "Tusk" was a messed up movie? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Um1AG4s_B54 View Quote Not really. That movie is a dark comedy. Same with SAW, but SAW's comedy is unintentional. Anybody who thinks it's legit disturbing isn't in on the joke, apparently. It's so fuckin over the top. The first SAW is kinda good though, but not that "disturbing". Blind Beast, if anybody knows what that is, is pretty solid too. |

Quoted: To me there are 2 kinds of fucked up movies: those that designed to be shocking, like The Human Centipede or Martyrs where it's built into the premise, and those movies where the logic of the events in the film reach a monstrous conclusion. A couple in this category: S7ven, the routine cops vs serial killer premise is ramped up to an asymptote as each reveal shows John Doe to be farther ahead of the cops and so much worse than they imagined. "If we catch John Doe and he turns out to be the Devil, I mean he's Satan himself, he might live up to our expectations...but he's not the Devil. He's just a man" Oh my. The Counselor, where an ordinary guy decides it's a good idea to do business-just once- with a drug Cartel. Every single horrible thing that happens subsequent to that decision is laid out plain as day in the foreshadowing, and the denouement is completely unsurprising-yet so shockingly vicious- that it is gut wrenching. Korean Old Boy. The set up for the end twist is so deft, and the consequences thereof so painful that the mindfuck is just that much more devastating. View Quote I love Ruben Blades' monologue in The Counselor. THE COUNSELOR - THE CROSSING |

The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)
Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer Vivarium was a mind bender but pretty mild i'll have to approve of some of these other flix lol |

Props to all who have listed non fiction or "based on actual events" movies.
To me they are the most fucked up. Humans are pretty shitty to others |

The Chekist. Not weird or overly gory. Just depressing. Has stuck with me.

Quoted: Yes, very fucked up. Quoted: Haven't seen it mentioned but The Divide was a fairly disturbing film. Thought it was cool that it had Michael Biehn in it. The wife and I were at a loss for words when it finished. Best part is, she picked it with neither one of us knowing anything about it so I couldn't be blamed lol. |

I watched one of the Hostel movies once. The second one I think. It really fucked up my tolerance for gore in movies.
I watched Schindler's List once. I never want to watch it again. The same for The Pianist. Probably the two most gut wrenching movies I've ever watched. |

Worst part is, like Katyn, my understanding is that they didn't exaggerate the situation much, if at all. It really did happen about as the movie depicted. (Though obviously there wasn't a young mother bearing witness as she ran from atrocity to atrocity; still, all of those atrocities happened pretty much as shown.) |
|
Quoted: The whole end of that, where he gets his mom back for one day. I've referenced that too many times for comfort, for too many reasons I'd rather forget. View Quote Though not a horrible movie. Bicentennial Man with Williams really explores what it means to be human. To OP Human Centipede 1987 Texas Chainsaw Massacre is awful even for a 80s slasher flick. |

Quoted: Almost walked out on that one. Was fucked up and just not good. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes I really liked 8mm. Been a long time since I've seen it, though. If I watched it now, I'd probably realize how much the Internet has me desensitized. |

Anybody mention "Begotten" from 1989? B & W and no dialogue. Here is a description of the first part of the film from Wikipedia "Inside a small shack, a robed figure – dubbed "God Killing Himself" in the film's credits – disembowels himself using a straight razor. After removing some of his internal organs, the robed god dies. A woman, Mother Earth, then emerges from his mutilated remains. She brings the corpse to arousal and uses his semen to impregnate herself. Time passes and Mother Earth, now visibly pregnant, stands beside a coffin. Wandering off into a vast and barren landscape, Mother Earth later gives birth to Son of Earth, a malformed convulsing man. He is soon abandoned by his mother, who leaves him to his own devices." OP did say F$%#ed up.

Watched "Frailty" last night because I hadn't seen it and it was listed in this thread several times.
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... A very soft 5/10 |

A real snuff film. And i do mean real. Was dating a girl who was really into it.

Probably Snowtown (Australian) or Child of God. I like dark comedy, but these don't qualify. A sense of dread comes over you, when you watch them.
A favorite of mine (but not f'd up) is Blood Simple (1984). |

Quoted: Not fucked up, but the thing that connected to me more than most was On The Beach. Not The Beach DiCaprio, but On The Beach, Armand Assante. I defy anyone with a shred of concern for their fellow man to watch the final scene with the young family and not die a little inside. The Road hit home with me as well as No Country for Old Men, and Se7en hung with me for months after. Also, strangely, Llamas With Hats. The end was... bleak. View Quote I’m not a big book reader but On the Beach is my favorite book. |

Quoted: The Boy in the Striped Pajamas Very serious historic topic, but this movie is sad, then very sad, then depressing, then very depressing, then disturbing. It just get worse and worse.......We watched it with another couple and by the end, the wife of the other couple was crying hysterically.....we weren't allow to pick the movie for a while. View Quote Click To View Spoiler The worst part, is when you're sad for the family, and you realize you're sad for Nazis.

Quoted: Didn’t see this one on here. I spit on your grave (1978). The remake isn’t the same. View Quote There was a documentary about that one on tubi a while back. It's inspired by a true case. Meir Zarchi was driving past Central Park with his kid and a naked woman came running out screaming she'd been raped. The times being what they were, they reported it and nobody cared. |

Daughter and I just watched “Possum” on Shudder. It was written and directed by Matthew Holness, the creater of ‘Garth Merenghi’s Darkplace,’ a British horror spoof that is epically cheesy (intentionally).
So I gave ‘Possum’ a shot and holy fuck what a dark, twisted unpleasant movie. Like Eraserhead but without any quirky humor. |
