Is she still pissed you broke her table?
Why would she even know if you bought a gun? |

Odd. My mother was originally from MN, and she always gave me good advise (most of the time). Do you have a rifle yet? Yes Gun safe? Yes You're a grown ass man OP; do what you need to do. You can love and respect your Mom; but you got to do what you feel you have to do. Your life. Your choices. And she doesn't need to know everything you do. (not to be an ass; but is Mom going to make the bad man go away if he comes to you in the middle of the night?) No, havent lived with my mother for 4 years btw my 15 y/o killed a rattlesnake this morning with a pistol (and it's not his first rattlesnake) View Quote |

Hey Cubby, would you like to have ol' Porkchop for a step dad?
I'll take you out shooting and buy you an ice cream on the way home, |
|
|
I say buy the pistol and congrats on getting her out of your life, even if you're related.
|
|
Step 1, grow a pair of big manly balls, step 2 buy the fucking gun, step 3 tell your mom to shove her company and money up her twat, step 4, strike out on your own and build something that is solely yours that your mother can never take from you because she did not build it. Step 5, be happy and buy more guns.

buy whatever the hell you want,Its none of her business and you're not required to tell her..
|
|
Buy it. Not really her concern since you are an adult now and live on your own. You aren't obligated to tell her either.
|
|
If you have to ask , you should listen to your mom.
You're not ready to own a firearm yet. |
|
If you die before she does, she will be much more horrified over your porn stash than by a pistol, buy the gun.

I thought suppressors are legal in Minnesota now?
There is one right way to do this and it involves "get both" |

What was your previous username? This has a direct bearing on my advise to you.

Not going to read all the posts but I saw enough to see some are riding you, OP. I won't. Everyone wants good relations within their family, and as we grow older we begin to recognize the value and wisdom our parents and other folks can offer from life's experiences. But there is a lesson here.
1) Recognize your mom is using money to influence. She exhibits poor character - thinks money buys about everything - including people. Shame on her. 2) Learn not to discuss everything with parents. As you mature, sometimes we just need to make our own decisions, particularly if it involves a sensitive area. Here, you chose poorly. Be prepared for questions if you think topics will come up that will challenge you (from anyone). Just because people ask questions, doesn't obligate you to answer them, but be prepared with how you will respond. You won't always know what might be said or asked, simply remember you're not obligated to answer. It's your opinion, your business. |
|
Cubby, you are worried about mom finding out and you are posting in an open forum? She could have her minions find your posts in 8.7 seconds.
|
|
The proper response is to get 2 hand guns that way if she asks if you got a hand gun "singular" you are not lieing when you tell her no.

I purchase a pistol... I am of legal age and living on my own.. Her logic is that pistols are used only in the killing of people.. what would GD do? No pics of mother. Edit: She has been a sucessful business women who is in sole possession of a large fortune and more importantly, a company I have worked with for years and hope to return to when im older. A troll thread? That's right college is out for summer or at least before the summer sessions.

Go be a Man, if you don't know what that means, perhaps you shouldn't buy a handgun.
That's not a joke I am being serious. |

Just wait until she finds out what a penis will do...... You're screwed OP

Refuse to live in fear of her whims, whatever money is at stake isn't worth it. |

Sig, Glock, FN? Don't forget a can for the rifle. And a .22 (threaded for suppressor also) |

I'm not sure you are mature enough for a pistol if you have to ask a bunch of strangers how to deal with your mom.
|
|
If she doesn't disown you over this, she'll disown you over something else. As long as you stay suckling on mommy's teat, she's gonna own your little boy ass and be able to make you dance however she wants. Tell her to go fuck herself and be your own man. |

When I was 18 and still living with the parents, I exercised my newly attained rights by buying a CETME and a case of Hirtenburger 308. Back then it was only like $600 for that and ten mags. I walked into the house with the gun slung over one shoulder and the crate of ammo carried in both hands. Mom was cooking dinner. I said, "what's up?" and kept walking back to my room. She was immediately on my heels.
As I stuffed the case under my bed, she said imperiously, "I will not allow that thing in my house!" I can't remember exactly what I said, but it was something to the effect of, "Too bad, your opinion doesn't matter." Dad backed me up and that was that. It's important to listen to your women; don't get me wrong. But it's also important to let them know where the boundaries in the relationship exist. Often their action is an emotional reaction, and it is without thought. |
|
Buy what you want, you're your own man.
I caught a bunch of flak for turning down the family buisiness and doing my own thing. My younger brother likely inherits it all, and I much prefer doing what I want to do. Every dollar comes with an expectation of control. |
|
Seems like the main thing holding that's OP back is the chance that he could get into some of this family business/money later.
Be yourself and do what you feel is right with your life. Work hard and build something yourself. Don't be lazy and fall back on working for mommy. |

Op you have a choice, you can either stand on your own two feet and make adult decisions. Or hang off your mommies tit the rest of your life.

This is a fucking joke, right? This has to be a troll thread.

OP wants to live his own life but return to the family business when he is older.
If I was the family I would say piss off, you work for it now or your out. |

How large is this small fortune and how successful is this business?
