Revzilla has a huge selection. I wear a Schuberth that is very comfortable. It’s modular.

Shoei RF1200 or 1400 for me. While I like the appeal of modular, if you study crash data you will find a notable impact zone near the chin/jaw. A non-modular helmet provides more protection here.

If you're not wearing an Arai CORSAIR-X RC...($3995.95)

Interesting. All of my modular helmets have always come with D-rings.

Arai has helmets for different shaped heads and you can swap out the foam inserts to better fit the shape of your head.

Eta: did you watch the newest Ryan F9 video? Is that why you want an ECE rated helmet now? In my opinion, snell is still miles above dot rating. I wouldn’t buy a helmet with only a dot rating on it.

My understanding of Snell vs DOT is the rate of protection a helmet offers at lower speeds vs higher speeds. Snell was an Indy car racer and died from a head injury. Helmet technology back in his day was not a mature science. The Snell foundation designed a helmet to keep the head protected in a high speed collision. It offered very little protection at lower speeds. The helmet was designed to crush and absorb the energy at high speeds, and it would not crush and it transfer the energy to the head at low speeds. DOT helmets were designed for lower speeds routinely found on city streets, not higher speeds on race tracks.

I read an article in Cycle magazine many years ago about DOT vs Snell, an the recommendation was to wear DOT on the street and Snell on a race track. I have no idea if that is still true today or not. Just threw it out for discussion.

Nolan N100-5.

A great modular helmet.

I would look for something that is DOT and ECE rated, and see if there is also a SHARP test done on it. That being said, I have a LaneSplitter, and old bell, a Fulmer 3/4, and I am looking at this.

SS 2400

The vents are huge, and you can convert it to 3/4. The face shield is not ECE rated, but it's probably a bit better than nothing. Thing looks cool as heck.

My current street bike helmet is an Arai Corsair-X Kenny Roberts Replica 2.

My current dirt bike helmet is a 6D ATR Merge.

FPNI.

I wear Shoei because they fit me best.

ETA - Finally replaced my old RF-1100 recently. Now I can ride my little sportbike comfortably again, as my RF-SR isn't really suited for that riding position.

I usually have a coiled cable lock wrapped around one of the passenger handrails. When I get off, I run the cable through one of the sleeves of my jacket then through the opening between the chin bar and shield. Essentially you are locking both the jacket and helmet with this cable lock.

Easy peasey.

I've got a Shoei NeoTech that's great, but the helmet that I wear daily is my carbon fiber Klim TK1200. I've got neck spinal issues and the lighter weight of CF makes a huge difference with that thing on my head all day. A 'YUGE difference. Regardless of whether or not you've got similar issues... CF is worth it. And yes, modular is a requirement for me. I like having people being able to understand me if I'm talking to them with a helmet on. I watch ebay or look for deals on Revzilla. My Kim was a trade show demo model that was never worn. I bought it directly from Kim, via ebay.. It cost me $300... versus the regular $550.

CF FTW indeed. Bell Eliminator Carbon here.

I have a massive..   Like seriously ..  massive mutant fucking head so I go and buy one that fits retail.   Couldn't find a modular this last time around.

Still looking.

AMEN!!! Me and my wife's noggins are YUGE! And we're not even Gold Wing/Harley porkers. We ride a Triumph Tiger ADV. We always get XL helmets. So many helmets are made for tiny Asian heads... FACT.

I'm wearing a schuberth riding adv bike.  mine is the open face model with nothing in front of my chin.   i like being able to look down at the ground around me when i'm doing <10mph standing on the pegs.   prob would get something different if i rode all street

Why not a modular? I flip-up the chin part while I'm riding my Triumph ADV on dirt/gravel... and at intersections when it's hot out... or while talking to others. But I get the added wind, bug, and face protection on highways. At 53 and my kids grown... I would never use a non-modular helmet again. I've got 4 or 5 different ones (Klim, Shoei, HJC, etc) of various price points kicking around the garage.

I like HJC helmets as a good balance of quality and cost. Just got my wife an I90 modular. Looks like that one is ECE.

I did recently buy myself a Shoei and it is a nice helmet. I ride everyday so the money is well worth it.

I would like to get a modular to have as an option.

The helmet that fits best.

The “best & most expensive” helmet that fits poorly will not protect as well as a “cheap” one that fits well.

FPNI

Took my girl lid shopping since she wants to backpack. She showed me a pink one and said I like this. I took her to the local cyclegear and had her try on like 6 different ones. Then we found a design she liked.

Go find a local cyclegear or MC shop and try on a bunch.

I used to wear ARAI, but when mine was stolen I tried an SCORPION EXO and liked it quite a bit.  I just got an SCORPION EXO AT950 for ADV biking and although I like it, there is a bit more wind noise than with my other helmets.  Not sure why.

Shoei were really uncomfortable after a long ride. You have to try before you buy.

Shoei X14 is what I wear. I’ve had an X11 and RF1200 and a Scorpion Evo prior to this. I like the airflow through this one the best.

Mine isnt modular (shoei RF1400) but the way I lock my helmet would work with any helmet that has a chin.   I use a springfield armory pistol lock and lock the helmet to the bike rack with the lock around the chin. Never had an issue like this.

Been wearing mostly Arai for 15 years, not cheap but I think they are worth it.
