Excalibur was not a flop.  It made money and was popular at the time.  The others you are correct

I've rewatched Edge of Tomorrow several times.

While not a flop, it was a box office disappointment.

I'll have to check it out. I've only seen three Jarmusch films, but I enjoyed them all. (For different reasons; Deadman, Coffee and Cigarettes, and The Limits of Control.)

The bathtub scene is absolutely hilarious.

I was going to add Orange County, but apparently it did very well.

I wish Tom Green made movies again. But I'm glad the dude disconnected from that industry though.

Wizard of Oz took years to cover its costs.

While the film was sufficiently popular at the box office, it failed to make a profit for MGM until its 1949 re-release, earning only $3 million on a $2.7 million budget, making it MGM's most expensive production at the time.

That flopped?

Pretty much.  $39 million box office off $25 million production costs and since the studio only gets approximately half the box office, it lost money.

Well, it's possible that people at the time thought it underperformed because Paul Newman's last movie before that made $100 million.

I thought it was great, and first person thing was pretty cool.

Waterworld didn't flop, unless you count a flop as something that didn't bring in double it's cost.

In that sense, Dredd.  Profited $20 million, but that's not called successful.

Has anyone mentioned Serenity?  $25m at the box office - vs. The Transporter, which led to two sequels, a reboot and a TV series.

Serenity made $25 million domestically but $40 million worldwide. Unfortunately it cost $39 million to make. It wound up making money by the time it came out on DVD though.

That was the whole point of the title of the movie, though.

I was satisfied up to the ending where they all died and kind of disappointed when it extended to be the happy Hollywood ending.

I didn't read the whole thread so my apologies if these were already mentioned, I thought " the gods must be crazy" parts 1 and 2 were really good.  so was "jane and the lost city".  the first two are foreign films but I think jane and the lost city is an american film.  I doubt either one made money but each of them have some memorable scenes.

A few I liked that didn't do well.  I'm not sure about the last one though.

The Baytown Outlaws (2012)
Serenity (2005)
Tremors (1990)
World Gone Wild (1988)
Streets of Fire (1984)
Panic in Year Zero! (1962)

The Peacemaker is in my top ten movies.  I also liked the similar themed movie Broken Arrow.  Broken Arrow gets derided for its technical "liberties," but I always took it as nothing but a modernized western.  Same with The Postman.  The Postman came out after Water World and was derisively called "Dirt World," but all these years later if you take it on its own merits then it's a decent, if inferior post-apocalypse movie.
