The analogy with the wife doesnt apply in this context. He is not married to a side. He has power. He has money. He owns one of the most if not the most wide spread media company in the world. Name one single instance of Trump engaging in a calculated move that will cost him billions of dollars, just to make a point of principle. The fundamental difference is that A: Musk has repeatedly shown the ability to grow companies in new markets into multi-billion dollar behemoths in spite of his reputation, while Trump just rides on the brand recognition of his name, and B: Trump is in it for his own ego. Every action he's taken, from running for office to selling digital trading cards, to attacking any other Republican who appears to be vying for power..is ultimately explainable most cleanly under Occam's Razor as "Trump is in it for Trump". Musk is the high functioning autistic with a certain degree of personality disorder, a stratospheric IQ, and an inhuman drive to achieve that drives everyone else around him into the ground. He's not going to run for President because his vision is set on Mars. He doesn't care about individual people, just the overall goal of advancing humanity. This is the problem with being so vague. There are posters in this thread interpreting his princess bride reference to wanting his kid back to kill over this , or maybe he HAS all the money and power he needs to not worry about speaking his mind. Others think its 4D chess. My take is that he is pissed that the left has targeted him to be “cancelled”. Buying twitter ensures that he wont be silenced on whatever he decides to say/tweet. Or it could be the awkwardness of his autism peeking through. |
