I don't want to pile on here, but OP, you need to get a job. I'm thinking that you might be trolling a little, though. I mean, a post like that in a forum like GD?

This thread is not real. On the off chance that it is, OP needs to man up now. This is your moment OP.
When I went to college, I did not live at home. I had a small apartment a few miles off campus from which I commuted daily in my POS Dodge Neon that burned about a quart of oil per 500 miles. I graduated magna cum laude in 2.5 years as a double major from a lowly PA state university. I worked 12 hour shifts at a warehouse 65 miles away on the weekends. I had no cell phone, no laptap, and no internet service at home. The university library was often open until midnight or even 24 hours. I would sign out a library laptop, find somewhere quiet to work, and save my shit on various disks and flashdrives. I used to shut that place down every night studying, completing assignments, and just generally putting out academically. Using this approach allowed me to graduate with relatively little debt compared to my peers. I post the above not to brag, as I fully recognize that my accomplishments are insignificant compared to many others. I posted the above to demonstrate that bitching about your dad's internet cap makes you sound like a giant pussy. Edit to add: I'm not saying you ARE a giant pussy, I'm just saying that's how your OP could be interpreted. |

That sucks
For $59 I get 25GB with no data limit, just pay the extra $20 If we had a data limit it would get crushed every month since we don't have cable. |

Long story short: We went over our internet data limit of 250 GB already for this month. ISP will charge my dad $10 per 50GB we are over our limit. Last month it was 368GB total usage. So I'm hoping just $20 and not $30. We can upgrade our service for $20 more per month to 100 MBPS and 450GB limit.- I didn't tell my dad this yet. I'm a full time college student and I live at home with my parents, and they are nice enough to give me $100 a week spending money. So how do I go about asking my dad to upgrade the internet plan? Nicely ask if he can just take the $20 a month out of what he gives me? I think Netflix and Youtube are the main source of data overages. My girlfriend and I like to watch a lot of Netflix shows. View Quote I didn't know you could even still get internet that had any sort of data cap, short of the really unusual super rural stuff. |

Well first off Hunter, I would ask your Pa, how come daddy was you so stupid to give me 100 dollars in the first place. I got no job and can't do math.

People really pay for Internet with data limits? I had no idea this existed. A lot of high speed internet providers are going to start capping people. Luckily I found an ebay unlimited Verizon 4GLTE plan w/ voice month-to-month at $175/mo.... This is real life. |

Comcast/Xfinity has a 250GB/month limit in the Seattle area, but enforcement is currently suspended (no overage charges). I think they start selectively enforcing the limit depending on your usage habits. Over the summer when the kids binge on Netflix, we start pushing 500GB and up......
|

How about pay for the overage out of your $100 per week allowance?

OP, let me guess...you are voting for Bernie, aren't you? Have two college-student daughters at home currently, both going full time and working part-time. Both pay something towards rent...and if they want to use the wi-fi, they pay for that too. Plus, they chip in for food...mostly because they are millennials and feel the need to shop at those fucking hippie grocery stores. I graduated high school a year earlier than the rest of my starting class (did extra summer school credits in a public-parochial school). I knew high school was a complete waste of time and I wanted to be done with it. Worked construction while on D.E.P., celebrated my 19th birthday in boot camp, served 8 years on Active Duty and got my college done piecemeal while in the service. Uncle Sugar paid for 95% of my Bachelor's degree. Sign off and suck it the fuck up, buttercup. G |

Get a fuckin job you bum.
Great u are going to school, go deliver some fuckin pizza or something instead of downloading porn |

When I got divorced and moved back home I streamed enough Netflix to go over the data limit for dad's internet.
Being an adult with a paying job, I just upgraded his service and paid the bill. Still, streaming, drinking, and feeling sorry for yourself is no way to get over being stabbed in the back. |

OP needs a hockey stick and a tennis ball.

Up until a couple months ago it was 8 GB per month here, broken down into 7 day periods. If you go over your 2 GB limit in a 7 day period, you have to wait 7 days for it to fully reset. No options for buying more GB's.
Cost was about $65.00 month. HughesNet moved in and took over. Now it is 10 GB per month, speeds are the same snail pace. Price is about $100.00 month, not counting the $650.00 set up fee. Fuck you OP |

Maybe you should go check some books out at the school library and study.
Extra expense avoided. |
