The stories I read on the dailymail said that the crowd booed Lia and cheered the 2nd place winner who actually went to the Olympics as well.

They probably do regular skirmishes like this, and probably never win. Women MMA fighters spar with men for the same reason. A very challenging opponent to help you improve.
