An interesting side note.....
The Big Bopper was from my home town. It was often reported that he might have survived the initial crash for a short while based on the fact that he was furthest from the crash site and some thought that maybe he had crawled away from the crash before dying.
A few years ago, his son had his grave exhumed and had an autopsy done to confirm or deny the allegations.
Long story short, x-rays showed that almost every bone in his body had been broken and that death was instantaneous. He had not survived at all.
Another gruesome tidbit.....His son wanted to look at the body, as he was an infant when his Dad died. He later reported that the body was still dressed in a colorful suit but the skin had a green color to it.
I'm honestly surprised there was any skin left to look at.
BTW Sub, don't you find it interesting how we can remember song lyrics we haven't heard in 50 years, but I can't remember anything important?
This thread got me to thinking. Totally from memory.
Chantilly lace, a pretty face,
A pony tail, hanging down.
A wiggle in her walk, a giggle in her talk,
Makes the world go round.
Ain't nothing in the world like a big-eyed girl to make me talk so funny,
Make me spend my money,
Make me feel real loose, like a long-necked goose,
Oh baby, that's what I like!
