Jesus is on record (in the bible) for telling the disciples to carry swords...
I forget the exact passage, but he tells them to take care of themselves eta :beaten with the reference.... |
He would in Baltimore, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Mogadishu, and any other liberal controlled fun zones.
Oh liberals again who hate Christians, bring up Jesus when it suits them.

It was illegal for non-Romans to have swords then. And he was advocating they go buy Roman swords. So, basically the big J was a big fan of assault weapons that they people weren't allowed to own.

what an asinine question to ask, if he needed one then he wouldn't be omnipotent

View Quote This passage does not mean what you are saying it does, but Jesus condoned self preservation for others. He, on the other hand, did not follow His own advice. Praise God for that! |

Am I Jesus?
What the fuck is wrong with the idiots who write this shit? |

Christ was, is, and ever will be, and while divine, He was not all powerful when he lived on Earth. He was a man who could be tempted, feel pain, etc. It is complex. This is what makes his sacrifice all the more beautiful. |
With legions of angels at his disposal I doubt very much that Jesus would feel the need to arm himself. For those without this divine hook up.... well you know that story.

Considering HE is divine, no HE doesnt need a weapon..................but you will never hear a Liberal say that The Savior, who can call a legion of angels at a word, and raise a man from the dead, doesnt need one because of those reasons. The rest of us mere mortals do, and I'd venture a guess that HE has no problem with us protecting ourselves

Jesus's ACOG would have the bible verse.

It had bumper stickers such as: Jesus was a community organizer, pontius Pilate was a senator. Just another white woman voting for Obama. Rainbow flag. Obama 2008. Obama 2012. |

Reading that article, the ignorance of Christianity is pretty shocking. Pacifism has always been a strain in Christianity, but it has always been a minority strain. There is literally 2000 years of theology on the topic but this idiot thinks it is an issue of evil conservative politics. It's really telling just how ignorant the NYT author is of THE major intellectual force of the civilization she is living in.

You can consider a NYT employee expounding on religion.
Or you can listen to me explain quantum physics without the aid of cut and paste. Equally pointless. |

View Quote A better question: Would Jesus work for the NY Times? |
Would Jesus carry a sidearm?
No. But he wouldn't marry homosexuals either. And he probably would have thought Mohammed was a blasphemous punk. So where does that leave us on the whole imitation of Jesus thing, NYT? |
No, Jesus would not wear a sidearm. But if you flash your piece out on the lane, he'll take it away from you, stick it up your ass, and pull the trigger until it goes "click". |

Jesus wouldn't need one. That being said, see the references above he seems to have no problem with us arming ourselves. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

It's funny, Jesus told the other dudes he was with to have swords, but he didn't get one himself. It's almost as if he wanted to die, or that he knew his death would result in something big for somebody......... Man, I just have to wonder what he died for......
He can miracle your ass straight to hell. WTF does he need a sidearm for?
Jesus would not have a sidearm.
He'd have a Galil and an Uzi. With giggle switches. |
Jesus is walking down the road and he witnesses someone being beaten and raped
What would he he do ? Would he take action ? That the better question |
John 18:10 & 11 is more to the point. When the romans come to arrest Jesus:
10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.) 11 Jesus commanded Peter, "Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?” He doesn't say "OMG SWORDS ARE EVIL". |
If we follow Christian theology:
Jesus is God. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Jesus made similar threats about towns that didn't listen to his word. So, no, Jesus wouldn't wear a sidearm, in the same way the dudes in nuke silos don't wear sidearms. |
We DON'T know. We do not have His Divine Wisdom or intellect to make such a supposition. He came here for a specific mission and He accomplished it.
I don't know if Jesus would wear a sidearm, but he sure supports my right to decide for myself.
He also told somebody to sell his cloak to afford one, so I think yes. |
