New York is actually a one and a half party state rather than a legitimate two party state ever since the Republicans agreed to allow the Democrats to dominate state politics in return for a back room power sharing agreement. The Safe Act could not have been enacted into law without the complicity of the Republicans in control of the State Senate . Our national political system is also headed down the road towards becoming a one and a half, rather than a true two party system as well. |

What the hell is a "borough"? Is that similar to what us westerners call a county? View Quote Most of NY is broken up into towns, which fall inside counties. NYC is a single city with 1 mayor, broken up into boroughs, who have their own borough president. (Under the mayor). ETA: Nassau County checking in. Trump signs and bumper stickers outnumber H by a large margin. Also, spoke to a USSS agent at his rally by us, and he said they had approx 25-30k turn out for it. Considering I didn't get in, was in the hangar but before security, and turned around to a sea of about 8000 people waiting still, plus all the people I walked past leaving, I'd say he's right. You'd be shocked the support Trump has in NYC as well. Of people I'd seen and spoke to, 2:1 his favor. |

My area is heavily blue and I haven't located a single Hillary supporter yet In 2012 I couldn't walk anywhere without tripping over an Obama sign View Quote My area is heavily red (Collin county, north of Dallas). Obama got 33% of the vote here in 2012. He got 37% of the vote in 2008. Kerry got 28% of the vote here in 2004. Gore managed 24% in 2000. So...pretty red area. No real detectable Trump or Hillary enthusiasm, if you're gauging it by signage...and I haven't seen a single Trump yard sign yet. Or Hillary sign, for that matter. Seen a couple few signs for more local candidates, though. I also haven't driven through every neighborhood. And maybe I'm just not looking all that hard. I dunno. Moving on... I was in the Beaumont/Port Arthur area over the weekend (Gulf coast, by Louisiana), and they more or less wall papered the area with Trump/Pence signs. And every other candidate for political office you can think of, probably to include Dog Warden for all I know. Those folks LOVE broadcasting their favorite candidates to people passing by. Point being, I'm not really convinced that yard signs (or rally attendance, or bumper stickers, or...) correlate all that well with actual votes. |

I have heard from a few truck drivers and others that have been travelling that it is overwhelmingly Trump signs, seems those voting for her do not want to show it much. Still my area is heavily Democrat no matter who is running, so I can only hope she is defeated. I have my Trump sign out and plan to attach hillary for prison to the bottom of it.

It's not unusual in a general election for all of NY to go red except for the 5 boroughs. The 5 boroughs have a large enough population to dictate leadership down to the rest of us, whether it be for governor of NY or president of the US. I live on Long Island and I have to say I've never seen the support so incredibly one sided toward the republican candidate. It's like 2008 except those Obama/Biden signs have turned into Trump/Pence and 'Hillary for Prison' signs (even more so for Trump/Pence). It's pretty remarkable. It's humbling to see so many people aware and engaged in this election. I have no clue how accurate any of these polls are but based on visuals and local discussion I'm hopeful. View Quote The people that get bussed to the polls don't put up signs in front of their Section 8 Housing. |

ny is not the empire state anymore it should be the welfare state, ny gave a 10% raise to welfare because they felt they needed more money due to cost of living. it is always the dems that vote yes for these things and you can bet that no one will bite the hand that feeds them... or subsidizes their health care ...or provides section 8/ rental assistance. yep 20 points up for hrc in ny just because...

Rural upstate ny here. Mostly Trump signage, very little Hitlery signs. I do see more Hitlery signs in Saratoga Springs but even there I see a decent amount of trump signs.
Upstate is relatively conservative but only when compared to NYC and the counties adjacent to it. I would guess that on average upstate is about 35 percent conservative to 65 percent lib, and that the NYC area is 5 percent conservative to 95 percent lib. I will be voting for trump as will the rest of my family that is still in the gulag. Understand that NY is completely and irrevocably lost. Conservatives are greatly outnumbered and to think otherwise is delusional. |

Thanks to all the worthless scum who couldn't handle that. Like everything else in this state, it's been steadily declining. Following Cuomo's 2014 win: (2014's) gubernatorial election saw the smallest number of voters make it to the polls in the four decades since the state Board of Elections was formed and began tracking voting. Few reports have noted the extent of the decline: Cuomo's 52.5 percent of the vote on election night may have seemed like the typical erosion of an incumbent's margin - down from 61 percent in 2010 - but it obscures a fall of nearly one million votes. New York's turnout was a shameful 28.8 percent, the fourth-lowest in the country, despite three statewide races (including the governor) and 27 House races." Source Per the article only 3.7 million people (out of close to 12 million registered) voted in the last election. With turnout so low, the NYC vote could in theory be counteracted by the rest of the state. IF voters were so inclined and found reason to actually show up at the polls. I won't hold my breath, though I do doubt people will show in overwhelming numbers for Hillary. Like many others, I see no support for her here in WNY. |
