No.  Just don't go to Florida.

If 5.4M New Yorkers moved from NY to the states in New England and voted red, it would overturn the political landscape.  Those six states would mean a swing of 12 senators, a big shift of congressional seats out of NY, switching six governor's seats to red, making six state legislatures red and turning six states' court systems more conservative.

Win-win all the way around.  Six years of elections to flip the Senate seats.  Congressional and statewide seats start flipping the first election cycle.  First election after the census New York gets fewer seats in Congress and loses clout in DC.

5.4M million New Yorkers is almost equal to the population all the New England states.  Putting that many conservatives and dissatisfied moderates into New England would be a sure-fired plan to break the Dem control in DC.

I moved to NJ for work years ago and when I was getting laid off bailed right back to PA.  I had offers in NY, CA, and MD and all of those states had shitty gun laws.  My wife and I made our decision based on family and gun laws.  Of course, I had zero connection to NJ other than a job so it was easy to just walk away.

When I watch a YouTube channel like South Main Auto in rural central NY and think about the quality of a person Eric O is an his family and then remember that he's probably an R, he likes guns (he used to shoot on another channel) and the governor wants him gone, I can't even believe that we're doing this.  That said, we are, and people like him and anyone else should realize that you are seen as the enemy by these people, right, wrong, or indifferent and they don't care.  It's why I'm looking to get out of where I live not because I hate it...but because I already know what's coming in the near future.

Not a Republican but challenge accepted In fact, I am all for Texas sending every single border jumper here to NYC. The howls from the Mayor, city council and Governor are sweet music to my ears. Getting what they have advocated for good and hard. They complain they have gotten 7,000 or so undocumented here yet that is one day's worth in Texas. And they are complaining the Federal government needs to provide resources. Odd how that plea fell on deaf ears when Texas was making it.

This is what I think is happening, on a large scale.

I have been watching a lot of Peter Zeihan videos lately.  He, correctly I think, is pointing out how demography is dooming a lot of western countries, the US included.  When countries get wealthy, they don't have kids at the same rate as when their country is poorer and agrarian.   Western globalism is largely dependent upon the consumption habits of 30 year olds.  I believe this is largely correct.

I think our globalist leaders have concluded that the way to stave off economic failure is to import a working consumer class.  Zeihan says our problem is that it takes three decades to grow a population of 30 years old men and women.

The problem is that you cannot integrate an immigrant population in a welfare state.  It worked in the US before 1920 because there was no welfare.  What people don't understand is that fully one-third of all immigrants to the US in the great migration WENT HOME.  They couldn't cut it, and didn't like to work.  So they went home.  That left us with an independent and motivated population.

Our current welfare state inverts that mechanism.  We will get the unmotivated and dependent people of the world.  It will cause our collapse, all in the name of preserving demographics.

Lots of NY (R)'s ought to cross over to PA.  NY is lost but PA could use some help.

That's what I told my buddy in upstate NY to do. He works in the movie industry in NYC (SFX, pyro, and theatrical Armorer) so he needs to be close. He could drive in from PA but the problem is that so many people from NY have moved to that eastern part of PA on the NY border that home prices are ridiculous.

It would be gloriously interesting to see the opposite happen: a flood of Republicans/Conservatives move into the state and start voting all the Dems out, eventually fixing all the problems and turning the state red.

There were also immigrants who came here to work and then went home when they'd met their economic needs.
Its largely a myth that every immigrant in the 19th century came here to stay
For YOUR example, we need to go back even further, to the early colonial period. A lot of people came here with get rich quick dreams, not understanding the demands of a frontier environment. They died en masse or ran back to Europe. The need for a solid work ethic stuck with the survivors.

PA should take over Western NY. Hochul clearly doesn't want it.

If you sell in nj and don’t buy another property in nj you pay extra.

This is not correct.  NJ does an estimated income tax withholding that you can reconcile when you file your final state income tax documents.  It an effort to make sure you don’t scoot without paying income taxes.  It gets the name exit tax but it truly isn’t.

Kathy Hochul’s call for 5.4M Republicans to leave New York is dangerous and disgusting

Gov. Kathy Hochul, who hasn’t proven shy about issuing orders, had one for the state’s Republicans this week — all 5.4 million of them: “Just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong, OK?” she said. “You are not New Yorkers.”

The leftist states for a while have been talking about exit taxes.

Actually, jersey already has some form  of it in their real estate transfer tax. If you sell in nj and don’t buy another property in nj you pay extra.
