It's been my observation that the Fords are more common in municipal departments and the Chargers and Tahoe's are more regularly seen on the highway. Probably because the Chargers brakes can't stand up to stop and go driving in town.
That makes no sense considering the Charger needs to go from 150-0 more often on the Highway.

I guess the rest of the country must be buying them because it sure as fuck ain't DFW agencies except some explorers (cough police interceptor SUV).
My city is heavy on chargers and tahoes, with limited explorers in patrol and admin.
I honestly cannot remember even seeing a new Taurus in patrol anywhere around here. The Aussie Caprice was the same. Very limited use around me.
