Is there video before I waste my time clicking to a shitty news website even though their video player will suck balls?

I am very glad to hear that the idiot driving that Mustang didn't hurt anyone. I didn't realize they went that fast.
|
|
I've driven the route. The sooner you get through the state, the better.

Mustang GTs and IROC Camaros went 145-150 in 1986, with substantially less power than a 2.3L Mustang makes today. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Yeah, the CHP SSP Mustangs topped out at 135 mph, mostly because of trans limitations. With a modern 6 speed instead of 4, it would hit 160mph no problem.

Quoted: Wrong View Quote But I looked it up just for you: Top speed, mph 149 IROC 148 GT. https://www.thirdgen.org/rt_october1986_mustang_vs_camaro_irocz/ Surprisingly enough, the 310hp 2018 Ecoboost Mustang is much slower, maybe 1-2mph hotter than a 1977 Saab 99 EMS (My EMS had a big factory air dam not found on other pre-turbo trim levels), and noticeably slower than my 2016 1.4L Cruze or my 1986 2.3L Mercedes. (2018 Mustang governed to 123, Cruze governed to 132, Mercedes 2.3-16 topped out in the low-mid 130s) |

Plenty of places to go that fast safely in NE, TX and other states

I've got mixed feelings on a police chase that goes 150+ mph when the only known reason the cops are chasing is for traffic.

I've driven sustained at 260 kph or about 155mph, in a Porsche on an Autobahn surrounded by drivers that understand how to properly drive. It's very fast.

Yup. As I read the article, the cops were chasing him simply because he was running. Considering how fucked up Nebraska's third party liability, the NSPs history with pursuits and issues arising from them (Trooper Flick incident), I am amazed they actually conducted a pursuit at those speeds. If all I had was high speed I'd would not have taken the liability of continuing such a pursuit even if I had gotten supervisor permission(My old agency required supervisor contact immediately).

To be honest, large groups of people amassed near curbs are few and far between in Nebraska.
