There appears to be a new temporary flight restriction set up over northern Alaska with very similar wording to the recent balloon shootdown off the Carolinas. This would not be too dissimilar from the track of the last balloon, although it's a few hundred miles further east this time. The flight restriction appeared this morning, the 10th of February. It could be for something else, or maybe not? Apologies if dupe.

So Kirby says US fighter jets took a look and determined it was not a manned vehicle and downed it because it was at a lower altitude and posed a threat to air traffic.
If jets were that close how are they still claiming they do not know what it is. Supposedly downed on frozen water aka ice so they should be able to recover quickly. |
