2020 GMC Jimmy Release Date, Engine & Interior – Well paid back insiders have leaked out programs to get a GM structured 2-front door convertible, 4-door convertible small class SUV which is referred to as 2020 GMC Jimmy. It’s indeed no surprise as Ford looks to create the Bronco in 2020 as Jeep Wranglers have managed strong product sales within the market. It appears car manufacturers can attract some having a “crossover” but they have kept the little SUV away-highway lovers and convertible 4×4 industry thoroughly barren.

Holy fuck that post and that looks like a concept vehicle from 20 years ago

It'll really be a fru fru plastic clad new Blazer. $55K up, able to cross small rivulets of water coursing down the curb sides of roads during a light rain.

That's because the picture OP posted is a GMC Graphyte concept from 2005.

I had an '89 GMC full size Jimmy...say K5...that I highly modified for off roading all over the western U.S.  This new "Jimmy" makes a sacrilege of the name.  Seems like Jeep is the only one staying somewhat true to the off road label.

Two things - one is that the text of that 'announcement' sounds like it was written by an Ozzie. Second is it keeps referring to a convertible, and that ain't no convertible.

I like what GMC’s been doing across their line, but if they base the new Jimmy (as a Jim, I really hope they don’t call it that) on the new Blazer platform it will look good but just be a glorified station wagon, no ground clearance like the concept pic (reused or not) above...

I miss when cars had an actual functional bumper that would absorb impacts up to a certain speed, and you wouldn't have to have the whole front or rear end of the car replaced after a minor fender bender.

The other poster had it correct. It's a concept photo from 2005.

I didn't even need to look it up to know that was a concept photo from the early 2000s. It has that melted plastic soft curved look that was so popular then. Even the headlights are straight out of the "We just figured out what projectors are" style and not chock full of LEDs like any recent concept would be.

Absurdity is probably third behind outrage and porn as far as driving ad revenue online.

OP didn’t even leave us a link, but I doubt I’ve heard of the site he copied this from.

Search 2020 Jimmy and there are articles all over the interwebs with that pic.

As someone else pointed out though, that pic is from an old-ass concept vehicle.

There used to be a time when I looked forward to the new cars that manufacturers came out with every couple of years. They were exciting a different, a homage to the past sometimes but new.

Now it’s to point where I have apprehension of it as seeing yet another car turned into a GOD DAMN CROSSOVER!!

By 2030 you’ll be able buy any vehicle you want as long as it’s a fucking crossover.

They’ll be full size crossovers, sub compact crossovers, compact size crossovers, mid size crossovers, sports crossovers, luxury crossovers, expensive crossovers, less expensive crossovers.

Hey y’all I’m bout to spoil the fucking future for any of you who were still looking forward to that new concept of your favorite cars from the past.
This what it will look like.

It’s amazing isn’t it? That photo has nothing to do with the proposed 2020 Jimmy. Yet every idiot who sees it associated with the article thinks that’s what it’s going to look like.

The same thing happened when ford announced they were building a new bronco. Every article uses Renderings created by people who aren’t even associated with Ford to show a bad ass looking suv and everyone talks about how awesome the new Bronco is. In reality it’s going to look like a rounded off modern crossover.
