Uhh--hate to get like, LAWYER like and stuff but.. 1. No subpoena, they can fuck themselves. 2. Unless said subpeona SPECIFICALLY said you cannot disclose the agency involved, then under Public Records laws in every state I am aware of, and under FOIA, then you CAN disclose said agency. 3. If the subpoena HAD a "Shut up who it is clause", then you SHOULD be afforded a right to challenge the non-disclosure. This whole sounds fucky, and I do this for a living..... I pay to enjoy this website because I deal with fuckwits, addicts, and liars ALL DAY LONG; this website was for general enjoyment and to talk gun stuff. You disclose MY personal info absent a subpoena that I as an aggrieved party have a right to challenge, and we are going to have a problem. View Quote |

A gov’t agency can certainly subpoena such info, and arfcom must comply and provide the info, and the gov can certainly have a Judge signed non-disclosure order attached. But Federal LE agencies generally don’t send out official “don’t do that” emails. Plus, what a chicken shit explanation. A group of folks getting together to buy stuff, MIGHT not pay state sales tax, so no more group buys??? Might as well shut down all of the EE, because some guy MIGHT buy a gun and shoot someone. That’s either the most bored Federal Agent in the country stirring up shit to look like he’s doing work, or there’s more to the story. Or someone is being dishonest. Seems like if this is true, arfcom should lawyer up and fight it. |

Yeah, this is really a fishy situation; I'm betting it was Glorious Comrade Brownells's decision to shut it down, and NOT actually a .gov... Dear Arfcom: I really don't care if you change the site, even drastically so; but don't lie to us... View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

It is a troll thread, right? What was the other "troll thread" that one of the site staff or mods made a couple years back that caused quite the commotion? |

They couldn't try to make it look like Brownells is causing all these changes more if they tried.
WTF. I can't imagine old arfcom will remain much longer with things like this going down every week, and even daily it seems. |

a .gov agency request this? you sure?....they don't get anonymity like that, doesn't work that way
