IFF TTPs for each side
Russians DNR/LNR militia using red tape  Russian Vehicles From the eastern staging area, A white Z. Aircraft and vehicles from the northern staging area a white V     Ukraine's vehicles seem to have no universal IIF symbol, some are now using blue and or yellow tape. Tho, Ukrainian vehicles sometimes have a camouflage paint scheme and the Russians are a solid green.  Some Ukraine soldiers use yellow tape. Not universal tho.  Ukrainians now using blue tape.  Russians are also using white tape bands on arms and legs.  |

For those wondering what DNR means, it is the
acronym for the Donetsk People’s Republic [DPR, aka Donétskaya naródnaya respúblika = DNR] which is a breakaway region of Ukraine, endorsed by Putin and fighting with the Russians. Not officially recognized as a country, they have been fighting against Ukraine for many years, and are now active in this war against Ukraine. |

Ground forces make you mass, they make you bog yourself down in equipment, and then artillery and aircraft can find you and kill you. So if you refuse to mass, ground forces can steamroll you. At Agincourt Henry used archers to force the French to attack. Had they refused they would have had to disperse, and then his cavalry would have ridden them down in small pockets. War hasn’t changed, in this respect. |
