Weight bench and dumbbell/barbell set. (Assume "one hand dumbbell" when I say "barbell" or "weights" in post)
Failing that, a Rowing Machine but that won't really get all the muscles so you'll have muscle aches when trying to actually use your muscles when lifting or doing lawn work. Barbells strengthen far more muscles in the movements to keep them tested and on the path, and using two dumbbells/barbells too mimic a straight bar for bench exercises, though a long bar is a good addition if you use the spin on barbell weights anyway.
If you work with barbells your muscle aches will go away. Fixed shoulder and back pain with barbells that all the machines in the gym didn't help though I was thought I was strong on them.
Machines help and rowing is the one that hits the most problem muscles, but if you don't pickup free weights now and again to check if you're improving, you'll be weak and have aces in the muscles not exercised and other muscles work harder to make up for it, then you get painful cramps.
I'm not a fitness type, just sharing what was shared with me via Physical Therapist. They need to use machines that target muscles for insurance reasons at the office (Free Weights really hit all the muscles in motions of just getting ready for the lift), but gave handouts for doing the muscles with barbells and a wink.
For cardio, walking or jogging or a rowing machine on alternate days from free weights.
