He'd built them just prior to coming onboard with Taylor.

It got me thinking about a block of maple I've had for 23 years that would make 3 tops suitable for solidbody guitars.

I dug it out and remembered I had a piece of flamed redwood too.

I need to build them into guitars now.

I would love to build my own. It ain't easy though.

That woodwork is stunning! I've got a banjo that my dad built back in the 70's but neither of us has ever learned to play it. An old buddy of mine had a business for several years building custom resonator guitars and did a number for big name country players in the Nashville area, but he's building high precision long range rifles these days. Dude is super talented.

I'm halfway wanting to apprentice with an acoustic guitar maker to see if the ideas I have in my head are worthwhile.
