I finally downloaded Discord for the first time and joined the local Pokemon Go group or channel or whatever it's called, because I met some local players who said it's awesome and has a ton of really active members.
...aaannd the admin of the group promptly banned me simply because of my username. Because he "wants to keep the group drama free."

Is it just me or does catching Pokémon get a lot harder once you hit level 35? I feel like they break out of balls and flee a lot more frequently now.
