"The Wackiest Ship In The Army", 1965-66, one hour comedy show with no laugh track. It had a serious side, though.
IIRC, it aired immediately before "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.", but possibly on another network. "Win Ben Stein's Money" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3pDfGQrV04 Jimmy Kimmel got his start here. |

I remember a show (or maybe it was a made for tv movie) that I saw part of when I was a kid. It had a family in a RV that somehow ended up on another planet. The episode (or part of the movie) that really sticks out in my mind is the teenage son was either being conscripted (or trying to join as a double agent) into some warlords' army, and to pass the initiation he had to grab a flame that was coming out of the warlord's metal hand (or glove). There was also something to do with a glass knife.
Vague, I know, but hopefully someone here knows what the hell I am talking about. |

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romper_Room Romper Room BostonEdit Miss Jean (real name Jean Harrington) hosted the Boston area Romper Room (which aired on WHDH and its successor WCVB) for fourteen years. She was an English major and Education minor and a graduate of Salem State College, in Salem, Massachusetts. A Swampscott native, she was a former high school teacher. Her husband at that time was WHDH news reporter Bill Harringtom.[3] The show aired with Miss Jean from 1958 to 1972. She was replaced in March 1972 by "Miss Louise" (Louise Lark, a 23-year-old school-teacher and a graduate of Boston University).[4] She and Bill Harrington divorced, and she ultimately moved to Florida. View Quote As far as I know I was the only child replacement for the "Teacher" during the Magic Mirror segment, ever. I completed the normal run on the show. Then the producers asked me back for another week. So I could impersonate "Miss Jean " on April fools day "Magic Mirror " segment. My mom was so proud. I also serpetishly released a12 foot Ball python from its cage back stage were it was waiting for Zoo animal time. I got in big trouble for that. |

"Inquizition" Cable TV quiz show, 1998-2001
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYhL64lGixs InQuizition - 27 October, 1999 Inquizition was probably most famous for its mysterious anti-host, the Inquizitor. The Inquizitor was not a typical game show host of the time (enthusiastic, energetic) – he was angry, cranky, and had little patience for wrong answers. Further, he rarely called contestants by their first names, instead opting to use a more gentlemanly approach ("Mr. Roberts", "Miss Johnson"). During the game, he was seen only from behind as a figure in a dark business suit with shoulder-length gray hair, seated in a chair next to a table that held a glass of water and an hourglass...
...The Inquizitor never showed his face during the show's three-year run (although has a grey beard), and due to stipulations in his contract, his identity is still unknown. View Quote |
