I showed that to a 10th Mtn vet at work. He just shrugged and said, “still better looking than the local New York girls.”

Weren’t they the ones who put out that entertaining room/structure clearing video a while back?

I still don't understand how the 10th mountain was selected for urban and beach operations in Somalia.
Not a comment on their performance there, but I would think it was outside of their specialty and that other troops would have been better suited. |

We are gonna take heavy losses in the next serious peer-to-peer conflict in the name of diversity.

My son is Scout Recon in the 10th right now, prepping for SFAS. He doesn't have a lot of great things to say about them.

Regardless of if it's a troon or a homely female, how is that hair within reg?

Do they still send you over to Mittenwald to show you how to actually climb mountains?
When I was at the ITC, it seemed we had more US personnel there and at Hammelburg than we had everyone else combined. |

Got any context?
Looks like a gag picture. That's a wig, I believe. |

I think I detect a bit of inter service rivalry here. That explanation makes sense. |

I will now go remove the 10th Mountain license plates from my car, and everywhere else. I am beyond ashamed.

"Climb to Glory" needs to be changed to "Meet me at the Glory Hole"

View Quote FT Drum is flat a F, they chopper out to the back 40 then hump it back into cantonment via the Antwerp Tank Trail. Terrain better suited for a Mechanized Infantry Division, the NJARNG (HHC 3/102nd AR now 102nd Cavalry Regt) unit I was assigned to used to go there for AT "summer camp" The nearest mountain warfare training is in Vermont, run by the ARNG. |

Definitely a Watertown 8. Some guys went down to Syracuse ... umm ... playing certain music from their Accords? Me and other guys went up into Canada, MUCH better than anything around Drum.
We got all the shit assignments because I think we were just cheaper to send everywhere. We flew commercial to Haiti, but the thought was when we boarded that the 82d would have already jumped in and secured it I think. Or maybe the jump had been scrubbed by then, I don't remember. I do remember securing the damn airfield for about a month after we landed. Easy to put Joes and couple mortars and MG's on a plane and ship them wherever. I'm going to go with gag wig, but based on the world today who the f knows. ETA: we did go to Jericho in VT and do mountain school - summer and winter. But Drum is flat |

10th MNT is part of 18th Airborne Corps, 18th is light infantry except for the 2ABCTs that are part of 3rd ID.
I hate light infantry. |
