Quoted: Can anyone report on conditions aprox a mile east of valley view airport, Estacada? View Quote I expect there is a lot of smoke but that it is otherwise fine. I’ve been out there the last few days and It looks like the damage has been confined to the south side of Hwy 224 in that area. If you need a welfare check PM me. |
|
Things that can help:
Get some sheet plastic and seal up any fireplaces, doors, or windows that leak. Come in through the garage (multiple doorways) to minimize the smoke inside your home. A boiling pot with baking soda and some scented oils can help attach themselves to the smoke + a box fan with an HVAC filter on the back can all help reduce the amount of smoke in your house. While you can (?) get to the store and grab a stack of HVAC filters. Get yourself some more N95s - this will be with us until the rains come. This does have the potential to do long term damage to the respiratory system. Best of luck to all. |
|
The smoke combined with the moisture in the air this morning. Maybe 100 feet of visibility on my drive home.
At least its not orange any more. |

Who argues for and against the National Guard? Who tries to undermine the Sheriff when he implicates ANTIFA? Who demands absolute proof before taking any action is warranted? Who has unknown third parties standing ominously in the background? Who takes contacting the Governor seriously? Who tries to avoid contacting the Governor? People constantly talk about subversion and infiltration of the government. Here it is. Watch people with ANTIFA sympathies influence government action. The second post in this thread will have a relevant pic. Get this - State FM Walker Pushed Out b/c he went behind the line without permission
Walker told The Oregonian/OregonLive on Sunday that he entered the Beachie Creek wildfire area east of Salem on Thursday on behalf of a state employee who was concerned about five people. It turned out that one of the people was the employee’s relative, George Atiyeh, 72. Walker said he obtained “approval” to enter the scene from an incident supervisor. What is unclear, however, is whether he had authorization from Les Hallman, the incident commander, and whether he was honest with his supervisors when questioned about it, the source told The Oregonian/OregonLive. State police officials have declined to comment on the situation, saying only that the agency and the Office of the State Fire Marshal “regret this distraction.” What’s more, the source said, Walker lacked the skill and training to identify and investigate human remains at what amounts to a crime scene. ETA: per the Clackamas County Commissioner's meeting @ 23 minutes - the incoming FM is now responsible for the Riverside Fire. Sounds like the FM cleared his route with actual factual dude on the ground, but did not make the phone call to someone not on scene. He is a boots on the ground guy and his #2 was to fill the roll of admin ram rod. The OSP are inferring it is pure politics. ETA2: everyone should email Clackamas County Commissioner Paul Savas - he called the question RE petitioning Brown for the NG in light of Captain Jeff Smith's report from his deputies. Encourage Salva that he was prudent to ask the question about the NG and that you want him to follow up on the potential of such nefarious activity, and if true make sure that it is brought to the attention of the Gov, the media or both. |
