Here's some material for you guys since I don't Friendbook:
Gun owners are compensating for a small penis? As the owner of a large penis, I have to disagree. A large penis is not suitable for self defense. |

I love both of these videos...But again, its the same thing as the post at the top of the page....It doesnt really help our cause, although for a different reason.
Jerry Miculek and Travis Tomasie are both in the 1% of the gun world. Meaning that only 1% or less of the gun owners in the US are even remotely capable of doing what they are doing in the video's. I suspect it would be very easy for a disengenous politician like Pelosi, Schumer or Obama to use the amazing and hard practiced skills of both Miculek and Tomasie as common place. If the average gun owner is viewed to be as skilled or as fast as either of those two individuals, then it becomes harder to argue against magazine or semi auto bans.... I dont know how many of you have read this thread: A Psychiatrist Examines The Anti-Gun Mentality Its a long read, but its worthwhile because it breaks down the thought processes behind the antigun mentality. Towards the end of the article, there are suggestions on how counterargue and work on converting the antigun folks.... Personally, I love all the snarky one liner sort of facebook pages....but the fact is that the vast majority of the people these are aimed towards, already have their minds made up, (and there's no point in trying to confuse them with the facts!). I think we (as in the group...cause I'm not artistic or computer savvy enough to make those posters...I'm basically two brain cells away from being a talking monkey) need to focus more towards converting folks who fervently believe that an inanimate object is evil to understanding that it's nothing more than a tool...... Hope that makes sense..... |

Well said. And that is a great article.

I would suggest staying on topic. It is exactly on topic. |

Is this thread about 2A or abortion? Both, and more, actually. If you think this is about only guns you need to think about it a little bit more. |

Quoted: Quoted: I would suggest staying on topic. It is exactly on topic. If you are trying to make a point about gun control then that is totally going to muddy the waters, and you're going to be less persuasive on both fronts. Sticking to one topic and leaving party out of it is simply better propaganda. If you just want to throw red meat to people who already agree with you, or antagonize those who don't, then knock yourself out. |

The Left sees them and says, "You've abandoned all moral authority by using an image so emotionally evocative and singularly evil as the Holocaust!" Basically, the you're-standing-on-a-pile-of-corpses-and-preaching argument. I sympathize with the emotion; The Holocaust seems to me like such an aberrantly evil event that I hesitate to raise its memory in any political discussion. The Right sees the Left arguing against the use of such images and asks, "How can you possibly think such a thing couldn't happen again?" Since I'm a member of this forum, it shouldn't surprise anyone that I ultimately agree with this thought. There is some quote about those who cannot remember the past... |

What's that pic from? The one I used is a picture of American citizens (Japanese Immigrants) who were rounded up and put into "Internment Camps" during WWII. Something people conveniently forget that the US Government did within the lifetime of people still alive today, especially when saying things like "concentration camps could never happen in America". If you recall, shortly after 9/11 there were some very serious calls for the same to be done to anyone who "looked like a terrist". If you mean the picture in the other post (the Facebook image) that's a group of Korean shop owners who defended their stores from looters and such during the L.A. Riots. |

Quoted: Not a popular topic, but valid. That's the closest I have ever come to someone murdering me. When my mon was pregnant with me, her Doc told her I "wasn't a viable fetus" and recommended "starting over". She found a new Doc shortly after that. I was born perfectly healthy. Now I'm 25 years old, an engineer, father of two (first one out of wedlock, so I know how hard it can be), husband, and firearms enthusiast. Thank God that you had a mom that values human life. I am shocked at how many people I run into that tell me a similar story!!!! |
