First off, congrats on getting rid of that annoying shit on the top of your head… you are going to save yourself months of time and grief over the course of your life. Bald dudes exude confidence, embrace it and never look back!
Now the important part, you need to buy these clippers…
You’ve probably bought some $50 Wahl pieces of shit from Target or Wal-Mart and think you’re good to go. Throw them in the trash now. They are cheaply made, the motors are shit and you’ll be lucky to get a couple of years out of them. You might be shaving your head with a razor. Fuck that. Number one, I haven’t met a girl who doesn’t like a tiny bit of shadow. Not a single one liked the shiny smooth finish from a razor… it’s a pain in the ass, you have to keep buying razors, razor burn just sucks ass and so does cutting yourself on occasion. Ditch the blade!! The Oster Classics are made like a washing machine from the 1950’s. As long as they are maintained, they last forever. I just had to replace my first set after 7 years because I left it them in a damn hotel room and by the time I realized it and called, they couldn’t do anything for me. When I fired up the new pair, they sounded and cut the exact same as my old ones. They are one of the few products out there that have maintained their standard of quality over the years. You’re welcome. |

I use the $50 clippers and get about 5yrs out of them.
Do sharpen them myself. |

Bic disposable razor works fine....Pro tip - shave in the shower.

My Wahl clippers have been going strong for 15 years now, paid $25 or something like that from Walmart for those.
I have tried a few electric head shavers and they sucked bigly. DE razor and Cremo does a much better job with less irritation. I shave the head every 5-7 days, life is good. |

I'm going on 10 years with the last pos Walmart special I got for $30

The Kroger or Walmart brand twin blade with pivoting head work great with Barbasol in the shower.

Lasted 10 years or so before giving up the ghost. Got another Whal clipper to replace them. |

I don’t mind clippers except I could never get my rear neck line right. I also like that if I want to be grubby I can go a week after shaving. |

You obviously have not tried the Phillips OneBlade. It's a game changer. You don't need some clunky 5 lbs piece of steel the size of a stuffed burrito. This thing is small & portable. And the blades are replaceable so it's always sharp. |

View Quote I don’t want to have to replace blades… and I guarantee you they don’t sell them in my town. Plus, I don’t want some rechargeable battery that’s going to fail. Though it might be a good option for travel only. |

Disposable 5 blade razor in the shower every 2-3 days. No need to use shaving cream, just water.

Bald to Badass in Two Easy Steps |

The last few days has seen a concerning amount of head hair in the shower. I'm 42, always had a widows peak but fine otherwise, Dad and one brother went bald early, other brother and Mom's dad have/had a good head of hair. Guess this is my time. It's my whole head too, not just the top. Maybe it's just the stress.
I shaved my head a lot when I was younger because of basketball and the Army, always figuring I wouldn't care about doing it if I went bald. Now here I am remembering what an ugly head I have. |
|
Jesus, I couldn't tell you how old my Wahl clippers are. 15 , 20yrs old I guess
I put clipper oil on it every time I use it, and I take the blades off and clean it real good with a Q tip once in a while |
|
I got the Wahl years ago. The peanut.
At my age, I don't like wasting my genes growing hair. |
|
Go to the Fleet & Farm, Tractor Supply or similar and buy the horse clippers for cheaper.

Wahl Balding clippers are awesome and cheap. $62 |

Nah meng, I have a Pitbull and once a week shave it down with a razor.
|
|
I bought and Oster 76 and an Oster T trimmer when covid locked us down. They are rock solid and easy to maintain. I have not been back to the barber since then. They have easily paid for themselves.

I have a Rem balder pro after 20+ of shaving my head with a razor.
|
|
I found out I was losing my hair long after I started shaving my head. My barber retired, and I decided that was enough haircuts for me, I was 22.
as for recommendations I got some Walmart or Target Philips $40 electric razor 20 years ago that still works fine if I forget to use the Mach 3 I got when I turned 18. that thing looks nice, but I'm not sweating it |
|
First of all, those aren't balding clippers... So thats an automatic fucking fail
Second $155? Nah, I'm good with my Wahl clippers that I've been using for the last 14 years. |

|
I think i have some Remington clippers, don't really remember cheap ones have lasted me well enough.
You people shaving with a razor every day or every other day just baffle me. No guard on the clippers and i let it go for like a month. Nobody gives a shit and im tall enough that most folks dont really see the bald spot anyway. |
|
Meh, I've got a Wahl cordless and corded that are still going strong after 10+ years. A little blade oil after each use, and disassembly and clean once a year is all it takes. But I maintain with the Schick green razors you get in a bag of 12, they last longer than they should.

Got a "bald buddy" for Christmas. It honestly does a great job. Can even use it in the shower
|

Oster 76's are the Honda accord of clippers. They last forever

|
Been using my wahl clippers for about 12 years now. I like the balding blades
