When we saw this in the theater, these were my exact thoughts, “Boobies! Hey… she  supposedly literally JUST matured and hatched over a few hours, and her boobies are already saggy?”

There’s an interview where he admits to collapsing to the ground and crying in front of his wife and newborn after accepting or being offered the role for Tremors .. he thought he was d-list material for life moving forward

Always found that telling..

I'm a major William Holden fan.

He played himself in many ways throughout his life, dashing, heroic and anti-authority in the beginning, and a successful but sad and lonely old man declining fast in the later years (he nearly duplicated Breezy in real life with Stephanie Powers).  But he always delivered and had a cynical edge that I like.

Some of his best early roles were Sunset Blvd and Bridge over River Kwai, and late roles being Network, S.O.B., and The Earthling.

Art imitates life, Sam knew what he was doing when he cast him as Pike.  The scene before the walk just Bill and the bottle no dialog, perfect.
