I’m a boomer, as well as a non-paying member so I’m unable to post pics… and I’m not a pilot either!

But I have a good friend who owns a Piper Cherokee 180 that I have flown in, and taken the controls many times.

… does that count?

I solo'd in this thing a number of times 20+ years ago. Never did get my license. Ran out of money and time.

Unfortunately it crashed in 2018 killing the pilot and two passengers.

Large Cargo Freighter LCF better known as the DreamLifter.

Well, this jet only goes to about 8 destinations and is CAT II auto land capable so, no, not too many issues.

How high in the air are you when the mains on that jumbo touch the runway? 100’? 200?
View Quote

On the ground, you are about 32 feet above the tarmac. The gear are 96 feet behind you. So, you are pretty high at touchdown.
You get used to it after a while and it feels normal.

Coolest plane I have flown (barely).  I was allowed the privilege of flying this beast a bit and an approach to landing. Felt like a huge Cadillac in the sky.  Holds its line and altitude very well.

The jet’s maximum takeoff weight is only 800,000 lbs due to the highly modified fuselage.

It is more about carrying bulk not weight. We carry the wings and fuselage sections of the 787 DreamLiner to Charleston, S.C. for final assembly at the Boeing factory.

It’s the largest flying cargo volume in the world.

No pics. Mine was a Cox P40 Warhawk, that I was too young to be flying. Needless to say, I flew it straight into the ground. Later in life I flew many in Microsoft flight simulator. Again, things did not go well. I found out that I was better off taking photos at airshows. ??Attachment Attached File

Thus the aircraft's name and about its engines size. I get it now! Thanks bro.

Me too!  I thought I was the only one.  I still have mine in the garage and a can of old fuel but I think the engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

I had a front row spot at the dog & pony show when the first fuselage was being unloaded...

After Japan surrendered to the US in 1945, they found two of these aircraft still in flyable condition in a underground bunker at Yokota AB Japan. Don't know what happened to those aircraft though. Probably, ultimately, they were sold to a Hollywood film producer or something like that.
