What went wrong in your life? Why are you like this?

Even if you're pro/semi-pro, there's no reason to wear these with everyday clothes.

You're not my superviser....

Actually I have never worn a pair in my life.
Brooks nearly every day here.

Nike or work boots 24/7

Are you referring to Vans?

I'm 47 and own 3 pair.

Let me guess, you wear worn out Nikes that never saw anything beyond a walk or flip flops....

Or 5.11's and hiking boots that never get muddy

I have always worn boots except for cleats in football and baseball, or basketball shoes when playing basketball.

I have a couple pair of Vans.  They're nice casual summer shoes.
I have other shoes that fill other roles -running, hiking, work, dress, etc.
Why does my choice in shoes offend you OP?

Rocked plenty pairs of Etnies in my younger years.  Now I just stick with Dr Martens.

Tooled around on my longboard today alongside a trainer kite, thus I wore skate shoes.

Probably Dockers and a pair of gay looking dress shoes with tassels.

OP isn't the boss of me.

42 years old, wearing my Vans.  Just got done running my dog around the hood pushing on my new Jerry Gurney pro model deck!  I suck at skating and find the shoes uncomfortable for regular wear.  Usually, I'm wearing work boots. Also, out of necessity.

ETA. 42. Not 52!  Scared me when I saw it!

I thought you meant the shoes that have the wheelie skate in the back of the heel. I didn't think they even made them in adult sizes, but now I wonder if they do.

God damn I miss wearing Globe Chet 3s or 4s (? IIRC), they were so fucking comfortable.

Work boots 80% of the time, Nikes or Dockers otherwise.

Vans are still comfortable, well-made shoes. And they keep me rooted in an awesome BMX/skating/surfing frame of mind, wether I am at the moment or not.

I wear vans casually when I don't have my mining boots on. They have a lot of cushion and are very wide foot friendly. Being 5'11", 175, and wearing a 13 i'd like something that doesn't look dad-fashion. Why the hate OP? I'm also a dirty millennial hipster when I don't have my welding stinger in my hand.

Edit: I also have 70+ pairs of Air Jordans (the numbered kind people get shot over), Kobe's, LeBron's, KD's, everything. Bring the hate. Being a welder and 23 pays decent.

Same here. I'm 42 and bought my first pair of Vans last year. Seem to be a good casual shoe. I also have dress shoes and work boots and running shoes and hiking boots and flip flops. If OP wants to make my mortgage payment then he gets a say in what I wear but until then IDGAF what OP thinks about my shoe choices.

Oh, ok.

I am in my mid 40s and I live in Vans, they even get worn to work (Redwings when I am on most active construction sites).
I even have a pair of black and white checkerboard slip ons.

One of the guys I work with is a year older than me (I'm 28), he wears skate shoes. Also, I've never, ever seen him wear any type of jeans or normal pants. It's gym shorts, athletic pants, and sweat pants. Every. Single. Day. He's been with us over 6 years now. I'm not exactly a classy motherfucker, but dude, dress like an adult.

Meh. I have no problem with pros wearing their "work clothes" around town. Everyone where I work wears issued combat boots, Okaleys, and a flag hat on their days off.
