A radio host was just saying how his style of comedy would never be accepted by the safe-spacers or colleges today

Just saw that.
90 years. That's a damn good run. He was a brilliantly sharp entertainer. |

R.I.P. Don, you made me laugh till my side's hurt and did it on some very cloudy days.

I always liked that guy. There will never be another like him. He managed to make you like it when he insulted you and though rough sometimes, it never seemed mean spirited.

I always loved it when he was on the Johnny Carson show, they were hilarious together!
Rest in peace Don! |

There's a story about Don Rickles having dinner with Mel Brooks and some girls at a club where Frank Sinatra was performing. Don Rickles went up to Sinatra and begged him to come over to their table and chat with them. So Sinatra agrees, walks over to their table and Rickles calls Sinatra an asshole and tells him to fuck off.
Guy was the king of shit talking. |

He was a true entertainer right up till the end.
Always appreciative of his Vegas audience. Rickles was great friends with master filmmaker Martin Scorsese. Rickles tribute to Scorsese at AFI Life Achievement Award. Typical Rickles off-the-cuff jabs ending with a touching heartfelt salute to his friend. Rickles Tribute to Scorsese at AFI Award Some of his appearances on Johnny Carson are legendary. Don was a good friend to Carson as well. Rickles highlights with Johnny Carson: Rickles on Carson |

To a New Yorker like you, a hero is some type of weird sandwich.
Good night, Crap Game, you will be missed and never replaced. |

"Eddie Fisher married to Elizabeth Taylor is like me trying to wash the Empire State Building with a bar of soap."
"Who picks your clothes - Stevie Wonder?" "Yeah, I make fun of blacks, and why not? … I’m not a black." "Oh my God, look at you; anyone else hurt in the accident." On Frank Sinatra: "When you enter the room, you have to kiss his ring; I don't mind, but he has it in his back pocket." “President Obama is a personal friend of mine. He was over to the house yesterday, but the mop broke.” |

I love the Frank Sinatra story.
"I was a club one night with this really hot date, and I see Frank at a table with some other people, so I go over and say 'Hey Frank, I'm trying to make it with this girl over here, could you help me out and come by the table and say Hi?' So we sit down and we're having a good time, and the meal comes and we're eating, and Frank Sinatra comes up to us and says "Hey Don, how are you?" and so I turned to Frank and said 'Frank, would you quit bothering me? I'm trying to eat over here!' |
