I have a bunch of patches that are familiar, but "not quite right" to
the people currently on active duty. The AF has a tendency to rename units, re-assign them from base to base, and change aircraft types and/ or missions. So, unique in the fact that they no longer exist in the old form, not unique in that the insignia is mostly the same. A couple of patches I wore for one assignment, while not exactly rare, they were rare enough most active duty had no idea what they were until you started to explain, then "Oh! Those guys." |
