Just caught a blurb on it one the local news in the background.
Although I have never set foot in one of them, I was under the impression they were doing well. I guess not. |

I think the one in my AO is always packed. But that's just speculation. I've never been to it.

I think I took a date to one way back when, it was the fanciest thing in the trailer park back in the day.

The one here closed a few years ago. It had gone downhill quickly.

Its not terrible, its affordable seafood. I haven't been to one in years tho since my wife developed a shell fish allergy after having kids.

Quoted: The hood rats love them some Red Lobsta View Quote The few in our area are like this. I can only imagine the type of clientele they have now doesn’t help things. - churches chicken - red lobster - Popeyes All of the parking lots looks the same. Chargers, challengers, 300s, Altimas and impalas. If these restaurants really wanted to make money they should offer check cashing services, title loans and sell rims. |

My woman’s grandparents like doing family dinners there so I eat there a few times a year.
When I was a kid you’d be waiting for a table any night of the week. Now it’s a ghost town even on the weekends. It’s kind of surprising because the food isn’t terrible. I’d much rather eat there than Crapplebee’s, Olive Garden, or most of the other franchise mostly microwaved restaurants. |

My dad managed Red Lobsters in the '80s and '90s. There has been a shift in clientele since then.

Darden (Olive Garden, Longhorn, Ruth's Chris, Eddie V Prime Seafood) is a decent operator. They jettisoned Red Lobsterin 2014. For reasons.
Since isn't been a rough ride for subsequent owners, who should have known better. The owner of Red Lobster is still looking for a buyer for the struggling seafood chain, and it's keeping its expectations low. "We're not expecting to get anything much from the sale," Thai Union Group CEO Thiraphong Chansiri told investors during an earnings call Monday, according to a transcript from AlphaSense. "So you don't need to expect any one-time gain from Red Lobster." View Quote Ouch |

In all my years on this rock I think I have been in 2 or 3 Red Lobsters.
We avoid them because they attract clientele that seem a bit sketchy and all their reviews are bad. |

Most of the “you’re too lazy to microwave it yourself” restaurants aren’t doing well

Thanks for the update |

When your customer base is all about not paying for food and making a show for a manager to get a comped meal these things happen.

I get the demographic change, same thing around here. But the damned place is always packed. I don’t get it? Is black people money devalued vs. white people money?
|

I havent been in a red lobster since i was a kid. that was probably about 30 years ago. All i recall is that the place was filthy and my mother said "nope. not eating here."
|
|
Even pre Covid a lot of sort of sit down chain restaurants were going under.

Biscuits and clam chowder at the bar is a quick and tasty lunch. But otherwise I can't remember the last time I had a meal there and it's been quite a while since we did the lunch thing as well.

View Quote They tend to live together and combine SS and EBT payments to go out to eat at places. I know one retired lady who's collecting about $80k/year in SS and associated benefits because she adopted 3 of her grandkids (she has 5). My neighbors have 6 adults living there who don't work. |
