I loved it back when it first came out. When I found out Kricfalusi moved the 15-year-old girl from his fan club into his house and had been banging her and treating as a personal slave it kind of soured it for me. (She’s animated into one episode, wearing a harness and ball gag and being ridden like a horse). Fucking too weird for me which is saying a lot. View Quote |

I would sooner let my kids watch south park than that trash. It was on when I was a kid, and I could not even begin to comprehend how anyone could stand to watch it.
Regarding spongebob, that was long after my time, but I agree, WAY more fucked up than anything that was on when I was a kid. I was in college when it came on, and I knew some people who liked to get stoned and watch it. Yea, they don't make weed strong enough to make that fucked up shit bearable. I recently saw a study that concluded it actually lowered peoples' IQs. I'm pretty sure the majority of kids' shows have that aim. |

Why yes, it was one messed up show. That's what made it so enjoyable.
Unfortunately, once Nickelodeon dumped Kricfalusi, it didn't have the same level of twistedness. A couple of years ago, I had a heart attack. Folks are working on me in the E.D. getting me stabilized, when one of the guys notices the Stimpy tattoo on my arm, and we start recalling quotes from the show. Asking me how I was feeling about the whole situation, I replied [Mr. Horse] No Sir, I didn't like it! [/Mr. Horse]. Some of the other folks in the room are , and me and him are They were trying to help me, and I was providing the entertainment. |

I remember the daytime Nickelodeon version being too odd for me to enjoy as a kid.

Loved that show in the early 90’s.
But I have a twisted sense of humor. |

The original was fucking epic.
Was like 14 or so watching it with pops. Hilarious. Later on it MUST have been adultswim I saw it was going to be on and said oh shit must watch and was a huge pile of WTF is this shit! |

I've had the intro theme stuck in my head since hitting this thread earlier.
It was one of the first things I learned how to play on guitar. |

I was a kid when it was on, I always thought it was gross.
I would probably enjoy it a lot more now. |

Oh, my beloved ice-cream bar. How I love to lick your creamy center. And your oh, so nutty chocolate covering. You're not like the others. You like the same things I do: Wax paper. Boiled football leather. Dog breath. We're not hitchhiking anymore. We're riding!

My best friend and I could recite entire fucking episodes as kids. Space Madness, Nurse Stimpy, all of them. The Ren tooth episode was hilarity as well.
Didn't turn me gay though, odd. |
