Michael Cohen, a former attorney for President Donald Trump, will testify publicly this week that the president committed criminal acts while in office, a new report states. According to the Wall Street Journal, Cohen will provide House Committee on Oversight and Reform investigators evidence that the president was criminally involved in hush payments made to pornographic actress Stormy Daniels, who claims to have had an affair with the president years before he ran for the White House. In addition to Daniels, ne Stephanie Clifford, Cohen also made payments to former Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal, who also alleges to have had an affair with Trump. The Journal, citing an individual familiar with Cohen's plans, will also detail President Trump's so-called "lies, racism and cheating," with regard to the transactions. On December 12, A federal judge sentenced Cohen to three years in prison on nine counts, including tax evasion, campaign finance violation, and issuing false statements to a bank in connection to the payments to Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Small issue of credibility, but when has that ever stopped the dems.... |

Small issue of credibility, but when has that ever stopped the dems.... The problem with the claim is that Trump has paid off women before, so it's going to be tough to impossible to prove he did this only because he was running for President. How do you prove the payments this time were made only due to the election when he has a history of paying off any woman who threatens to go public with an affair? |

paying hush money isn't an illegal act. It's done all the time. The House even has a specific slush fund set up for this very purpose.

I have not followed the Stormy Daniels payment story very closely. Wasn't Trump agreeing to buy the exclusive rights to the story plus an NDA, then just not publishing the story? Or am I confusing it with something else? View Quote 1. Claiming that Trump used "campaign funds" for the payout. Even though Trump paid Cohen back several times the amount of the payout, Cohen used shyster lawyer accounting and I don't think the invoices detail the work. Cohen would just send an invoice for the amount and Trump would pay it. 2. Claiming that the Enquirer bought the story and didn't publish it as a favor to Trump that should have been a "disclosed" campaign contribution. |

I wonder how long it will take for the left to realize that digging up stories of Trump banging supermodels and porn stars only helps him.

It's like a reverse of the Clinton years. Democrats will go bananas trying to impeach him and then it'll stall out in the Senate. Trump will win reelection anyways.

I think the theory is, Cohen pays the whores with his own money, then Trump pays him back. Somehow, Cohen using his own money counts as a campaign contribution.
I think where it falls apart though, and I believe Aimless said this some time ago, is whether he would have done it even if there was no election campaign. If that is true, which is obvious, then it’s not a campaign contribution. |
