I believe it took a Billion to build, though not sure if that includes the required remodel, but probably includes the graft.
For anyone who hasn’t seen it, Navalny had a great investigative documentary, Putins Palace. PUTIN'S PALACE ENGLISH - FULL LENGTH (subtitles): ???? Documentary exposing Putin's corruption ???? |

Looks like being a murderous dictator pays pretty well. Wish my high school counselor had mentioned that option instead of college.

Quoted: Honestly, most of the world leaders that ended up dragged out into the streets and killed would have been able to retire to a palace somewhere if they’d just had the foresight to do it in time. I feel like it might be a bit late in the game for Putin to do so, but he has a better chance now than he will at any point in the future. View Quote This. I can’t see a firmer KGB agent who fought and struggled and murdered his way to be the top dictator for life just deciding to retire. That’s not in his personality. |

Last time Putin tried to retire he realized his chosen successor (Medvedev) wasn’t strong enough to protect him in retirement and had to jump back into being president. I’m surprised he’s so sure he found his replacement this time, if the reports are to be believed.
But if he gives two shits about Russia, or his legacy, he really needs a succession plan. |

Meh they also suggested Putin was overthrown multiple times. (and Kim too)(and Winnie the Pooh)

View Quote He did not retire. Per the Russian Constitution he had to step down briefly before he could “run” again so he installed a puppet for a term. He was always in charge hence Obama’s “tell Vlad” off comment. |

The only way Putin is leaving power is feet first, be it natural or “assisted.”

English news coverage is the worst. Art Bell had a more reliable sources. |

Quoted: I wouldn't want to pay the utilities in that joint. View Quote The first day or so, they noticed the plant was consuming 10x as much electricity as similar western plants. They asked the Russians how they could afford to use all that electricity. The Russian said they didn't care - all electricity was provided by the government for free. |

The notion that the war would end if Putin was cut out of the picture, has floated around for the past ten months.
His successor wouldn't lose face by immediately ending hostilities and withdrawing to 2014 borders. Blame it on the guy who left. It's the oldest trick in employment politics. The only twist here is that Putin physically survives this scenario as opposed to an assassination or uprising. |

Quoted: reality isn't like the movies, the bad guys often win and get away in the end View Quote But in this case he’s pissed off a lot of oligarchs who have lost considerable amounts of their fortunes due to his war. Very unforgiving people with a lot of power, influence, and long histories of brutal payback. |

Even if Putin tried to retire to his palace, something I really doubt will ever happen, the war isn't going to end because Zelenskiy is going to want Crimea back and no Russian politician can survive allowing that at the negotiating table.

16 levels underground? I'd be very surprised if there is 'stuff' on every single floor, because we're talking the square footage of a decent sized office building (except buried underground). What the guy might've meant is there is a nuclear/SHTF bunker that is 16 flights of stairs down.

Be a shame if the fucking place caught fire, or had a gas leak and blew itself to pieces. Real shame. What were those co-ordinates again?

Bush, Obama and Biden are just as much war criminals as Putin.
What now? |

Everyone involved got filthy rich. Nobody knows how many civilians in Syria, Libya, Yemen, Egypt... Who knows how many civs killed in South Ossetia war sponsored by GWB and company (another failed coup) ...or how many civilians we killed in Kosovo when we bombed every bridge on the Danube river and attacked their electrical infrastructure. |

Quoted: Quoted: Are Russian politicians allowed to retire? Seems like everybody since the Czar has died in office. Gorbachev did. Even more amazingly, the guys who had the coup against him were allowed to live, minus one or two ilof them who killed themselves when he lost. Probably didn't even lose access to their special stores. I think Molotov, Bulgarin, even Nicky himself, were allowed to die in bed, and not in office or a cell. |
