Would a US force, without air superiority, be better able to get through the minefields, trenches, and tank traps than the Ukrainian forces? Serious question, not trying to be a smart a$$.

I wouldn't want to breach a wire/mine obstacle under any circumstance. Air or no air it sucks. It sucked to train for at NTC and I doubt doing it for real would be any better.
There are areas that are km deep with mines. No army on the planet is going to skate through that like it's cool. People like to imagine there is some fortified line to be crossed then it's smooth sailing into rear areas, followed by a rout. Nope, just more mines.
And then there's drones, indirect fire and trenches covering every avenue of approach.
No wonder they are slow rolling this offensive. They seem to be putting up some good numbers, but not a lot of ground is being retaken. Don't know how they could do any better with what they have on hand TBH.
Could we do any better? I don't know. It probably depends as much as anything on the public's willingness to repeatedly see whole companys and battalions getting wiped out every other afternoon trying.
Russians seem to be the only ones willing to go down that road. And what do they have to show for it? Not much, other than a backwards killed to wounded ratio and endless struggles to provide reserve forces where they are needed.
