They’re response was pretty tame. In 2018 they used a task force comprised of five different law enforcement agencies to bust a guy who brought recyclable cans into the state. I’m not talking about tractor trailers full of cans.....he had a pickup truck full of cans.

I am surprised they didn't charge him with having an assault weapon, or bring in the ATF to harass him.  That is frequent in cases like this.   Also tax audits up the wazoo.

I believe the Feds were also involved in that because it crossed state lines.

And it will leave a ballistically traceable bullet in the carcas.

You ever try it?

If the animal lives long enough to leave the area who do you trace it to?

Even if that goes well, have you ever seen a lead .22 bullet recovered after hitting bone?

The chances of balistically tracing/matching a lead .22 is very slim.

Story asside.....when you realize the Endangered Species Act (ESA) was NEVER about protecting the species but making it harder to develop or allow for industry expansion (I.e. logging). It all makes sense.

The ESA was simply the vehicle they used to stop and make it harder to develop undeveloped lands.

Not sure why you just posted a picture of a spotted owl.

But the picture makes my point.

The owl and other critters were used to preserve the habitat.

Owls, raptors, bears, snakes, kangaroo rats, fairy shrimp, flies, etc.  All the species need certain habitat to survive.  The more species listed, the more habitat is off limits.
