What would be your "SHTF " COMBO? If you can grab 1 rifle and 1 handgun? If cost was exactly the same and if you would never be able to get any spare parts or aftermarket items. This is a SHTF scenario where your guns are based on performance and ability as is. I think I would choose a Cz Bren 2 11" 5.56 with a Walther PPQ Navy or a Colt Mk18 and a Cz p-10C. What are your thoughts? Thanks for your help!

I’ve been to war as an Infantryman. I’ll take equal weight in loaded rifle magazines for my AR for the pistol. Pistols have very limited utility.

There was a great thread once on the various load outs used by special forces guys in Vietnam, what stood out to me was that, pistol wise, they took a 1911 and one other magazine and that was it.

14 rounds. Less than a standard magazine worth of pistol rounds today. Made me really wonder how much utility a pistol had in the military.

With the stipulation on not being able to get spare parts, I would go after something that doesn't break easily so a SR15 for the rifle and G19 for the sidearm.

Clearly you have never seen the John Wick movies.

All one needs for combat is a $5,000 custom built competition pistol with a bunch of cuts in the slide to defeat scores of attackers.

Choosing from what I have on hand, it would be:

Walther P22 with suppressor

A calculator, a pen, and some blank paper.

ETA: Sorry, missed the 'SHTF'. In that case, it's going to be once-used scrap paper, and I'm going to have to write on the back/in the margins.

If SHTF I would probably show up with clorox spray and bounty paper towels.

Now TEOTWAWKI is a totally different thing.
AR15 with ACOG and a suppressed Buckmark.

I'm going to use my 357 revolver as the jack of all trades. No sense in carrying the extra weight associated with the rifle, the rifle ammunition, and the magazines.

If I'm wanted in war then I'm sure the recruiters would give me a rifle.

Easy. A suppressed .22 rifle and suppressed .22 pistol.

I don’t plan on fighting any wars, so I want whatever lets me hunt while drawing the least attention to myself.

Once everyone else is done killing each other, maybe then I'll venture down out of the mountains, but probably not. If society has completely fallen apart, there's really no reason to attempt to rejoin society, is there?

Probably a lmt 16 inch mid length with enhanced bolt. Glock 19. Ammo and mags are plentiful. Nice shooter, not much stress on the operating system with the lmt.

Maybe a mosin depending on the situation,

I can outfit 15 soccer moms or urban youths with IIIA shields, pointy sticks and artificial courage for the price of a nice AR. I'll hide in back with a hipoint.

An AR15 with 300 rounds and a good CQB tomahawk when I need more ammo. Pistols are for strutting around looking authoritative.
