Yeah it's a problem but what can you realistically do about it? If you cut everything off a lot of people that actually need help is going to suffer. Start giving out boxes of food? You have to build the infrastructure and overhead to plan, procure, package, and deliver those boxes to the people needing them. Don't forget about all the latent liability you now have by undertaking this, because you'll learn quick when an end user gets sick and sues your program for damages.
Short of TEOTWAWKI ebt is not going away. All other realistic alternatives to this system always end up costing more in the end. |

I wish I could get EBT. We get groceries every other Saturday. The last 3 trips were $350-400 apiece. That's $7-800 a month for a family of 4.
We don't live off steaks either and unfortunately shop at Walmart. Crazy times. We were paying about $200-250 every trip or about $4-500 a month |

One example, say your a family of four, or more. Mom, dad, ( unmarried ) two kids. They live together, in moms section 8 house.
the daddy, is getting SS disability… that’s approx $1600.00. If you have a kid, that’s another $800.00. so $2400 so far. If your kid has some issue maybe quite a bit more. Possibly food stamps, maybe section 8, paid to kids mom to rent a room. Mom is a single mom, so, welfare, section 8 , food stamps, extra money for the kid, other benefits, probably $3k easily. Free healthcare for both, utility help, free phones. Plus, dad works for cash under the table at odd jobs, mom does the same, tax free. To buy booze, smokes, tattoos, casino money, etc. People who know how to play the game know the angles and every benefit they can score. |

I know this is an older thread by now, but this sort of stuff makes my blood boil. Cutting all benefits to everyone and then setting up a vetting process is the only way to establish legitimacy. In person interviews. If you no show, you can reapply in a year. Slow process, yes. But something needs to be done. I can't imagine this can last for too much longer. These payments are what keep the animals from breaking their cages and attacking the zoo goers.

It's just not the poor's doing this.
Our friend worked for Placer county health and human services in Placer county California. She audited a guys account and found out he graduated dental school and was collecting EBT and some other benefits to the tune of approx 1k a month, while at the same time this leeching fucking scumbag was making approx 20k a month at his dental practice. Now get this, This motherfucker has the balls when caught redhanded he won't voluntarily terminate the benefits. it's apparently a 6 months process to get beenies terminated. He still wanted the beenies he wasn't entitled for those 6 months. He originally got the ebt and beenies when he was going to dental school and his wife had a child. He was collecting beenies for years after dental school. I'm sure he's not the only one working the system |

My Mom is not on public assistance she is doing just fine and received a government food card with all kinds of money on it. She didnt ask for that! Everyone else must be as well.

It's in the form of a subsidy paid to farmers to plant even more corn that the market doesn't want. My ex father-in-law, a large farmer, would squeal like a 3 year old girl when I'd tell him he was one of the largest Welfare recipients in the county. |
