That one has room for a few passengers, why is that? Actually, it's just a two-seater. Great visibility though. |

Lots of fighters so far and hard to beat a P-51, but here are a couple of my favorite civilian prop planes, from a more civilized era Spartan Executive https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7357/9021177311_2a1bf26eb8_z.jpg Globe Swift http://www.pilotfriend.com/flight_reports/reports/images5/32.jpg Cessna 195 http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/b8/80/cc/b880ccb21a9e35a66ba56b641584cd71.jpg And for the multis Boeing 307 https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/34/Boeing_307_Stratoliner%2C_Pan_Am_JP5629675.jpg View Quote You're a man with excellent taste. To me the B17G is the most beautiful aircraft ever made.
A few years ago I had the opportunity to fly in the collings foundation's B17 the "909". It was violently expensive, $400 which is well worth a once in a lifetime experience. $400 isnt really bad, the trouble came when my kids wanted to come along. Grandpa severed in WW2 and my kids get the importance of that. What could I say, No? So I din't eat for week, big deal. I'm fat anyway and got to fly in a B17. Who needs food when you can fly. |

View Quote Uh, no. The tailwheel is installed on the wrong end. I don't care if you can't see it from inside the cockpit, it's there, we know it's there, and you know it's there. |

Remember the old joke-" No no, those Fokkers was Messerschmidts"

I would cum in my tightie whities if each plane in this thread had a low altitude fly-by audio track to go with it.
