I personally use Buck'n'Ball. 1 - .65 cal round ball and 6 - #1 Buckshot.
I have been considering switching to #4 buckshot. I have read that it offers the best balance of penetration and energy transfer. |

I don't like shotguns for HD, but when I did have one it was #4. No real rhyme or reason, though.

In order of appearance, game, game, Buck, Buck, SLUG.
Because that is the way dad did it. |

Nothing because shotguns suck for home defense. Get a rifle.

Only birdshot. I will fire two blasts off the porch because Uncle Jo said so.

I had #4 buck for a while, then 00-buck. It's currently unloaded and in the safe. Never had to use either,so no AAR. Sorry.

First 3 are triple aught buckshot.
Last 3 are slugs. My theory is that if I still have a problem after three shots of triple aught, then 3 slugs are probably the best solution. |

So it can sit on shelves like the rest of the 3.5"? It sounds great but will never happen unless you roll your own. |

Federal LE1321B
And thanks to Old Painless for getting Federal to make a #1 buck loading. |
