I really dig H&K USPs now that I have a couple. Should I sell a couple of my 9mm Glocks to fund purchases of some USP 40s police trade-ins?

Depends on how many Glocks you have in 9. I'd do it for a USP, but not a 40. Pewwww

Why would you want to go to 40? Keep the glocks. Or get a USP in 9.

I have a Glock 19 gen 5 and a hk USP 40. I would not sell the Glock to get one.
The Glock is my carry gun and the HK is my book of Eli gun |

Granted, I am 62 years old, but I can figure this stuff out myself. Obviously, YMMV.

Can the 357 sig version convert to 9 like a Glock? I have a G32 and lots of 357 sig.

I would. Love the USP and the 40. It was built ground up around the 40 as guns in that size should be. And if you don’t have the hand of the 13% of people to whom a Glock actually fits, then you’re shouting them handicapped.

I thought I really wanted a .40 til I bought one.
Didn't like it at all. 9mm or .45 ACP for me. |

I have a USP in 45 and one in 40. I have two G19s and then I have two G17s with the grips chopped to 19 height and reshaped like BHPs. The G19s are ok, but I would rather have USPs in 40.

The HK USP is an excellent, super reliable pistol. I've owned 10+ HK pistols in the last few years, still have many.
In my opinion, the USP45 is the only pistol in the USP full size line that truly shines for what it is. Think on it. The USP9 is reliable as hell, but its big. More clunky than a comparable G17, with less capacity and more difficult to source parts. The USP40 is the same, but in the gross 40 cartridge. The 45 on the other hand, decent capacity for its size, better than any 45cal Glock offering, the FN models are cheaply made in comparison, SIG is ok if vintage, but passable newer models. USP45 is easily suppressed and supremely reliable with a can. I think that in 9mm, the best available pistol today is the G19 Gen 5. I think that the best currently available 45 is the USP45. HK45 is a close second but there are a few issues holding it back. The one major upside to your 40 choice is that the USP's dual recoil spring handles the round very well. pic just because Attached File |

I wasn't that impressed with the USP40 I owned. It had way more flip to it than I expected.
Glock 9mm is a solid platform. Always good to keep one in the stable. I'd rather rock a USPc in .40 with some match trigger parts installed or LEM. That could be fun. |

USP trigger is garbage View Quote OP should be buying USPs in 9mm. I'm really trying to justify an Expert w/the jetfunnel & 18 round mags right now. Fuck it, who am I kidding? I'll probably just buy the next one I see off the internet at the outrageous prices being asked. |

I am having a hard time discerning if the naysayers are upset over going from Glock to HK or going from 9mm to .40sw

Keep the glocks and buy the USPs. They are pretty dirt cheap for H&Ks,it's not a huge expenditure. You always should have a glock or 2, they are too ubiquitous to not have at least a couple.

Never understood all the hate for the 40. What's not to like about a fatter and heavier bullet doing the same speed as a 9mm? I actually like the cartridge more so then that gun!! This clunky USP service pistol has the same short length barrel as a baby glock G27. I prefer a clunky service pistol have a minimum 4" -4.5" barrel. Finally, once I got use to a SA only pistol like the Glocks, there's no way I'm going back to a DA/SA . I would find it hard to do alternating practice with the two kinds of triggers at the range.

I agree there's no conceivable reason to get rid of Glock 9s. That's like trying to resell BIC lighters; they're handy to have around and you're not going to get shit for them anyway.

People keep confusing USP Full size and USP Compact....
The .357 Sig Barrel drops right into the .40 S&W.....Same mag's.....Easy Pezy.... |
