I thought the EVO was straight blowback?

Any one else using a suppressed MPX whose shot an MP5 suppressed have the gas in the face issue the other poster mentioned?

I like the controls on the MPX mimicking the AR , but I love the styling of the MP5.
At the end of the day if the MPX is significantly gassier (is that the word, lol) then the MP5, I'll go MP5.

I have both an MKE MP5 SBR and an MPX.  The modularity and ease of swapping parts on the MPX is pretty great.  The only real advantage I see to the MP5 is cool factor due to movies/ nostagia.

The gas to the face issue with the MPX depends on the volume of the can in my experience.  I have tried it with two cans.  With my AAC EVO 9 CQC, which is a very small can, I get a lot of gas to the face.  With my Bowers CAC-9, which is huge, it is not a problem at all.

This is not an issue with the MP5 since it is not gas-operated, so there is that.

The spare can I have is a Guardian 9 from HTA. It's similar in size to the EVO CQC.

Hum.

You should take a hard look at the CZ Scorpion EVO 3. It is basically a knock off of the H&K UMP.  I have one, and I may actually like it better than either the MP5 or the MPX. It is very smooth shooting, and it suppresses very well.

I thought the EVO was straight blowback?

It is, and so is the UMP.  It has a really heavy bolt though.  You should shoot one before you decide.  it is really smooth.  Nothing at all like a 9mm AR.

I had the barrel chopped to 4". I'm not sure the OAL. Not at home to measure or look at my form 1.

I'll have to check one out. I've owned a lot of straight blowback guns (Stens, MP40, AR9's etc) although several were 'fun' I haven't found one I was happy with. I should have kept my MP5, but the money I got for it was welcome.

if the mpx was $500 cheaper it would be a better option but at the current price I say Mp5 clone. Evo is another good option too but it is not as smooth shooting as either. I have an evo, z5p, and z5rs so I have some experience.

No tri-lug or threads, not what you want if you're going to put a suppressor on it.

kelly enterprises had MKE z5ps in stock not too long ago.

eta, atlantic has them in stock too.

the lack of tri-lug mount is probably why the POF k is on sale...

I've shot an SD plenty of times (Had a friend with a RDTS one). I think they are the ultimate in suppressed sub guns.
However, I do not want the best feature of the SD, the ability to make 115 and other supers sub sonic through the barrel porting.
I specifically want to set this up to use Hornady Critical Duty 135gr +P, and have the wife use if as a inside the house gun.

What kind of lunatic would say MPX when an MP5 is on the table?

If you want it for suppressed use, get an MP5SD.

This. If you're planning on full time suppressed, why bother with anything but the best? If you look hard enough, you might even find a MP5K-SD (or someone who can build one for you)..

You'll be responsible for purchasing a compatible can and the lower.

Have a pseudo SD built then? K front end with an SD shroud and a K barrel. Have the shroud custom fit to your can of choice?

I wouldn't worry too much about noise with a full size MP5. It's nothing compared to a SBR or even a 9mm pistol.

Are there collapsible stocks available for the Zenith MP5?

I'd love to SBR one and add those cool stocks to it.

Crap, didn't even realize someone sold a K without threads or a tri lug...

Doesn't matter who made the MP5, all stocks should work fine in their respective size families.

Friend has an sbr'ed suppressed zenith that I shoot often.
We both have mpx's that are suppressed, and by far the MPX is my favorite to shoot.

I like the fact that I can use AR triggers in my MPX, and the super 3 gun just makes it tits.

You mag dump a MPX canned at an indoor range while standing between lane partitions, yes you will take some gas just like you will with a MP5.

Most people that complain about gas are people who never owned one or are "special" types that maybe aren't the most durable of men.

I shoot DI ARs suppressed and don't mind it. If it is not worse than that I don't care.
