Warning for those who use the Signal app.
The recent National Terror Threat Warning released by the Fed comes from them analyzing comms of the Signal app. Yes, the Fed can look inside all that "weak" encrypted stuff! |

People actually think they can plot against the gov on the internet and not get ass fucked?
The internet is no fun anymore. Let’s go back to discussing 9 vs 45. |

Well, do we have a replacement? I think signal is fairly strong though

Quoted: Or....that's just what they want you to think View Quote Your post is exactly what they want you to think. ;) The encryption available to the public is no match for the Fed. You know why there was a shiat show for the Crapple phone unlocking, right? If the Fed simply went and did it they would be revealing a capability they don't want to divulge. Ask the question the other way, do you really think they can't? What's the purpose of that huge fed datacenter in Utah? |

So...the Big Tech funded secure comms app that was pushed on the conservative populace, as a way to organize against an oppressive regime being censored by Big Tech was actually a trap?!
My God! Thank you for sharing this wisdom. Speed |

Ah yes, the not so elusive 2021 poster with their first post being some fear/panic crap.
Please go away, we're full on what you're selling around here. |

The press release said “no specific, articulable items” but concern. Doesn’t seem like a message for conservatives but just more pot-stirring.

View Quote Correct, it's a fools mistake to use the net for such nefarious things. I was just giving a warning to this all-of-a-sudden Fed warning notice about some Nat Terror plotting going on. There's no chatter of it anywhere, yet the Fed announces a warning like that? The Fed are heavily scrubbing internet data, and encryption is no match for them. So, again, if anyone is using Signal, this thread is your warning. If you don't want to be easily heard, don't use Signal. |

Quoted: I have my old dumb flip phone wrapped in aluminum foil at nearly all times.................. View Quote Using a old phone that still works on the cell systems, is a good choice. Chuck Schumer uses an old flip phone. ;) Old phones don't protect you from Fed eavesdropping on your calls, but the phone is limited for the Fed, etc. They don't like people who use old phones. |

or they just had a unlocked phone with signal on it and opened signal to read the messages?

View Quote Most of the real breakthroughs I hear about subverting secure tech, (and I could be missing big things) is from mis-application, or mis-use of the human variety. Wasn't it the guy running Silk Road that got busted through old-fashioned police work, and arresting him while he had his computer out and things unencrypted? |
